NYFLAVA2K9ParticipantThe story is clear; I don’t know why people are so confused by this. The fact is Ronaiah Tuiasosopo is gay, not Manti Te’o. He created the fake persona “Lennay Kekua” to gain a vicarious homo-sexual relationship with Te’o, going as far as recruiting others to keep his deception from being unveiled. Ask yourself a few questions before jumping to the assumption that Te’o had a hand in this hoax. First, unless if Te’o possesses psychic ability, there is no way back in 2009 he could have known to create a girlfriend to gain votes for a Heisman race in 2012. Second, there is no way he could’ve planned for his own Grandmother dying. To add, losing a Grandmother is a tragic enough story in itself, so why would he feel compelled to reach out for extra sympathy? With that being said, it is clear to me even with as crazy as the story sounds to some, Te’o was truly a victim in all this. Why did Te’o lie about meeting her? He was embarrassed about meeting a girl on-line. Why did Te’o keep speaking of “Kekua” even after he was told she never existed? It was a combination of him being as confused as we are as to why someone would do this to him, and a want to keep inspiring others with his story of triumph. This was not a want for personal gain or Heisman votes. Why didn’t he come forward with the information? It’s simple. His personal life is none of our business.
Te’o is a good kid, who wants to do some good in this world beyond the gridiron. Did he stretch the truth on certain occasions to mask an embarrassing situation? Yes. Is he a bad person? No. The fact is, it may not be flashy or juicy, but the story Te’o is telling is the truth. Either that or Te’o is the best actor I have ever seen…0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/25/2013 - 9:48am #741738

NYFLAVA2K9ParticipantI live in VA and all they’ve been talking about on the local sports radio is this Te’o soap opera. I’m with you dude, this was a non-story to begin with. I put a copy of this post on every sports website I’m on just so anyone who still had questions could put the 2-and-2 together in hopes that nobody brings it up anymore. o_0
Btw… Kick Ass Avatar Dude!!!
