Who will be the steal in this year’s draft?

Derrick Brown, Rodrigue Beabois, Victor Claver, Terrence Williams, Sergio Lull, Luigi Datome, Jerel McNeal, Micah Downs, Darren Collison, and whoever Jennings slips out of the top5 to.

Holiday wont fall to 24 but somebody will fall out of the lottery. Maybe Earl Clark or Derozan could fall. I still like Terrence Williams as a sleeper.

I think a steal is a guy who gets drafted late first round or in the second round…. Guys like Manu Ginobili, Rashard Lewis, Michael Redd, Carlos Boozer, Gilbert Arenas.

Any possible lottery candidates are expected to do well, so it’s not a “steal”.

This site is silly, Jrue holiday will be a lottery pick so count him out.

I like:

Tony Douglas (Senior, proven player although undersized)

Jeff Adrian (Great scrappy player, strong work ethic)

Josh Heytvelt (Solid, reminds me of Brad Miller)

Patrick Mills (I agree w/ you)

Jeff Teague won’t stay in. I just don’t see it happening.

Earl Clark out of the lottery. He’s one of the most intriguing prospects in this draft.

lester hudson… in the right system…. This guy has all the makings of a ramon sessions in the nba.

I’m really High on Rodrigue. I think he may even sneak into the first round to say maybe Portland?

Because people aren’t sold on him I think Jordan Hill is going to have a huge year in Memphis if he ends up there.

Ater Majok if He stays in and is drafted. This guy has all the makings of a legit combo 3-4.

I think Teague has lottery talent and he will live up to it. Oh yeah I also think Michah Downs game will translate better than he is given credit for at the next level. Micha is a explosive athelete who defends really well, and shoots over 40 percent from three.

lester hudson he scores over 20 points a game and also gets about five rebounds and assists

I really believe that Derozan could fall. He is a little raw and he has no clear-cut NBA skill.

Downs originally went to Kansas then after some drama in his life transferred to Gonzaga. I’ve always thought he was vastly overrated.

Micah is the kindof player you draft with the idea he’ll come in hit shots and D up. Anything else is gravy. Also, with that jumpshot and athleticism, don’t be surprised if there is still some potential. Would be a great fit in SA..play him for about 15-20 minutes a game while you rest Gino. That is once Mason is gone if they don’t trade Gino first.

The value in holiday, Clark, James Johnson for where they are projected to land in the first round. Lot of potential with proper training. Evans lacks all intangibles to reach the next level. Jennings is similar with too much of a big head me first mentality. I think you will see players like hansbrough, adrien and holiday find a home because of their work ethics and passion giving them an extra drive, which in this draft may mean a little more with so much raw talent and a weaker class coming through.

Disagree…Jennings and Tyreke are both far too skilled to not make it in the NBA. You think Iverson& Starbury have me first attitudes. You dont think OJ Mayo and Jamaal Crawford have me first attitudes. Just because you’re not a winner doesn’t mean you’re not a player.

They wouldn’t make it. You would be foolish to pass on them after the top five-ish. But isn’t it about finding winners (ie Kobe, lebron, cp3) or (tony parker, Nash etc) instead of a star player who score but don’t do the team any justice in your starburys iversons zach randolphs? These players have been proven cancers. Sorry I would look for someone to turn around my losing teams record and atmosphere before finding the next guy who is self centered all the way. Easier to find a scorer than a leader

Here are the players who I think will have the top value compared to their draft position:

Terrence Williams (Corey Maggete w/ a better shot?)

Derrick Brown (compares to Wilson Chandler)

Earl Clark (Prototypical size SF w/ avery diverse skill set, All Star Potential)

Patrick Millls (Developing Player with Dangerous Speed who will eventually be a very good scoring pg)

Ultimate 2nd round sleepers:

Dionte Christmas (Similar to Courtney Lee)

Danny Green (the next Doug Christie)

Evans is a proven leader as he led his team to 27 wins prior to losing to Mizzou in the tourney. Call me crazy but I’ll take the streetballer with a penchant for knowing he’s the best on the court over the frail shooter who may be able to play point guard or the ultra-large game changing bigman who always wins until the big dance. And no I’m not reffering to Curry or Thabeet.

I don’t know if you can consider Danny Green a sleeper – everybody thinks he’ll be a valuable asset, but they just don’t think he’s worth picking in the first round. He would REALLY have to blow up when he gets to the NBA in order for people to say “wow I never saw that coming.”

Jack McClinton is my pick for 2nd round sleeper. This guy is a pure baller. Deadly from long-range, has a great floater, and his step-back is virtually unstoppable. He’s instant production off the bench, and could be a Ben Gordon-type starter.

I also like Josh Heytvelt. He’s man-sized, tough, strong, with an NBA-ready body.

sam young will be a steal.

Taj Gibson, DeMarre Carroll & Jeff Pendergraph should be solid back-up bigs, especially if they go to a contender late in the first…

I think Darren Collison will also be a solid contributor as a late first-rounder…

Danny Green should be a rotation guy.

Beaubois is quite the specimen, we’ll see if he can convert that into a solid NBA game.

Biggest Sleeper: DaJuan Summers, if he can ever find some consistency, he’s got a lot of potential. He has the body and the skills- he just needs to get his mind right.

Lawson will be a steal, he’s projected in the later part of the 1st round and was by far the best PG in college basketball after guiding MY tar heels to a national championship

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a second round point guard end up being the steal of the draft. The three that come to mind are Tyrese Rice, Toney Douglas or Jerel McNeal.

Noleft hand, undersized,doesn’t attack the basket, notexplosive at all,keeps his head down when dribbling, and for all the speed he had at the combine, they never took into account he fact his speed with the ball in his hands is much slower due to his ballhandling.
