auberParticipantWith Jordan Hill being arguably the second best big man prospect in this draft, Would it be too far fetched to think Greg Monroe would have gone second overall to Memphis had he stayed in? Then secondly if not Memphis how far would he have dropped?
I think Memphis would seriously consider it, but I’m curious as to what everyone else has to say.

gatorheelsParticipantHe would have been a top 10 pick. I think Memphis would have really considered him at #2.

rvirsalParticipantit’s sad he opted to go back to school and wait for next year’s draft (depleting the number of bigman prospects this year). not sure if he’ll go as high as number 2 though. he was projected as a top 10 pick and not a top 5 pick.

auberParticipantIt just goes back to think of all the big man prospect that came back to school. (Monroe, Davis, Brackins, Vanardo, lawal, and in my mind the best of the bunch in Patterson.) It would have been nice to see some upgrades at the 4 in the NBA. I guess we’ll just have to wait another year.

gatorheelsParticipantHa I like watching Vanardo…he is a shot blocking machine.

auberParticipantI think Patterson will be the best of the bunch that I named above, but I think Vanardo will be everything Sean Williams was hyped out to be.

gatorheelsParticipantI have to agree, Patterson is a beast.

GreenLanternParticipantThis is a very interesting post auber. To answer your question, if Monroe had declared this year, Memphis wouldn’t have bothered to see Rubio in Spain earlier this week.

auberParticipantI traded his rights in my keeper league this year I gave up Deng, Dragic, CJ Miles, Ronnie Price and Patterson for Kenyon Martin, Matt Barnes, Kirt Hinrich and Tim Thomas. I wish I had that one back.
I still cashed in my league despite losing Al Jefferson, and Kevin Garnett for the season. Thank god for my trade of Grant Hill for Chris Anderson. Nearly saved my season from Misery.

auberParticipantI have him at $10 next season. In my 12 team auction keeper league i’m going in with
Tony Parker 30 2
Kevin Durant 25 1/5
louis Williams 13 1/3
Chris Anderson 10 2
OJ Mayo 5 2
Jordan Hill 5 1
Derrick Rose 5 2
Mario Chalmers 5 2
Thabo Sefolosha 1 2
Antonio Mcdyess 1 2The numbers on the left represent the salary of the players and the numbers on the right indicate the length of contract. 1 meaning first year, 2 second, 3 contract year and 1/3 meaning the player was contracted for $5 extra a year salary value. Our Auction salary cap is 260 and overall cap is 310. I have $160 more to spend on 8 more players next year haha.

knicksfreakParticipantMonroe would have gone #2. He was dumb to stay in the $ aspect.
