This racism thing is way out of control. I don’t think this word is used in a derogatory way anymore … There may be some exceptions, but still not enough to make an issue out of it.

Hrm… I dont know where you live or if you think everyone who was bore before the 70’s just instantly died. I don’t like to get involved in race, but I will say two things on the matter.

Racism is definitely still affecting a great number of people.

Its effect are only compounded by peoples insistance it isnt a problem. Prison industrial complex, apathy towards Africa and Caribbean genocides, ect.

^^^ Malik, I usually really enjoy your posts, but you know as well as I did what he said. So he just randomly spoke jibberish? Sounds like you’ve just heard his half-hearted apology and taken it for the gospel negating what you heard on the original interview.

The word in itself to me isn’t that bad, but it’s also something that doesnt need to be spoken by an educated announcer of one of the most well watched television channel on cable during a live broadcast. It’s below him.

To take a lesson from Coach Carter, you don’t say that word, simply because you’re going to get white people saying it thinking it’s ok since they hear it all the time from their music, to their schools, to their television programs. I’m a white guy and while you don’t want to come off racist, that’s exactly how a large number of people would still see it.

Personally I simply feel as though SAS should have better professionalism than that.
