YuanZiParticipantYou were all giddy and hyped up to get Bynum WHY exactly? What kind of idiots do they have in that front office? DId they see Bynum’s injury history? You’ll be lucky to get even one entire season out of him

Chilbert arenasParticipantThey also had a log jam at the wing and people had been talking about getting rid of Iggy for years. I think he’s worth the risk. Orlando was the team that really got screwed on the deal if you ask me.

LipstickParticipantHmm…roll the dice for a chance at top-4 seed in the East or have 5 more years of mediocrity?
Chance at 50-55 wins > 35-45 wins every season.

aamir543ParticipantYou get the best offensive center in the game for Andre Iggy, Iggy is great, but his departure opens the door for Turner to blossom, this deal was a no brainer for Philly, and even if Bynum unfortunatly does not stay healthy, I’m sure they’d do the deal agian if they had the chance.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantEven if he gets hurt, they still have almost the exact same roster but maybe with even more balance. IMO, Thad Young will be an upgrade over Brand for this team.. Turner can do what Iggy was doing and JRich is a perfect fit with Holiday and Turner. Also, they bring back Hawes, who was the starting C when they were running on teams last year. I think it was a must do if the coaching staff has any confidence in Turner at all. They will be expecting him to score close to 15-18 points a game and provide 5 rebounds and 5 assists.. He has the talent to do that without question.

eazy_peachesParticipantI tend to agree with the sentiment that it was worth the risk. Philly hadn’t been able to cross that line and become a real contender. They dealt from a position of strength and got a player considered to be top 3 at his position (many feel he’s the 2nd best center in the league). I love Igoudala, and he will be missed, but the upgrade at center is bigger than the downgrade they face on the wing.
And remember that Bynum is coming off his healthiest season yet, albeit it being a shortened season, and was able to stay healthy playing 35+ minutes per game.
(I realize Bynum played 82 games in his sophomore year, but he only played around 20 minutes a game. So I still consider this past year to be his best in terms of showing he can stay healthy.)
