Lebron’s HairlineParticipantLeandro Babosa has just signed with the Celtics. More firepower for Rondo. I think the C’s have a legitimate shot at the #1 seed. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/20582267/report-leandro-barbosa-signs-with-the-celtics

dmo21ParticipantHe is a huge asset to have and his game is undervalued since he left Phoenix. A guy who can come in and just light it up with an array of jumpers, floaters, and drives to the hoops. He can actually pass too and run a team (knows how to feed the hot hand). But on this team, it’s going to be tough to find minutes with Rondo, Bradley, Terry, and Lee already at the 1 and the 2.

TyroberParticipantThere is no way they will take the #1 seed from the HEAT. Both teams will be better than last year, but the HEAT still have the edge.

Meditated StatesParticipantTeam. Took the Heat 7 and only got better. Deeper than Miami already. Does not mean they will take them but, seriously I think Heat and C’ s were the best teams last year and will be this year too. Heat are not way better so the no way talk is kind of short sited.

IndianaBasketballParticipantQuestion… Who’s Rondo’s backup? The Celtics keep signing shooting guards. Jason Terry can be considered a combo guard, but he plays more off of the ball. Courtney Lee is a shooting guard. LeAndro Barbosa is a shooting guard. Avery Bradley is a shooting guard.
I mean, I like the move to sign Barbosa, but it’s a lateral move at one position.
I still *really* like this Celtics team. IF they’re healthy at the right time, they could win the title.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI watched team preview on them on nba tv and it said Bradley will be the backup with lee starting. Until then I think terry may have to play point Off the bench with barbosa backing up lee

LipstickParticipantBarbosa’s a huge liability versus the Heat. Wade exploited him every time he was matched up with Barbosa. With that said, they’re stacked at SG but this gives the Cs some very interesting small ball looks.

BostonkingsParticipantThis is an awesome signing, and to those who is asking who Rondo’s back-up will be, it’s Jet no doubt, he can be a floor general for 10 – 15 minutes a game, which is all we need. My Celtics are getting deeper and deeper, they are deffinitely contenders and this their best team since 2008. On paper anyways… I’ll say once again Danny Ainge is a top 3 executive. This team is STACKED!!!!!!!!! Not to mention they have a coaching advantage over every team that’s not San Antonio.

corneggParticipantPossibly see them in the Finals
Miami and Boston!
Not Miami and L.A!
Not Miami and Oklahoma City!
Miami and Boston!

IndianaBasketballParticipantGood point. Rondo only needs a backup for about 10-15 minutes per game. Terry can definitely fill in there. I guess I was thinking if Rondo got hurt or something.
IF the Celtics are healthy come playoff team, they’re a legit threat to stop the Heat.

Brew Meister SmithParticipantThis is a great signing. Watched him play in TO for a couple of seasons and this just gives Boston an extra energy scorer off the bench. True, he is not a point guard, but he can handle the ball, and did work as a point 2 on many occasions for the Raptors – same deal as what Bradley can do. As long as a couple of guys like Pierce / Terry / Bradley / Barbosa / Lee are on the floor together, they can take turns bringing up the ball.
I expect Boston to make another move for a more legit backup point guard, but as mentioned above, expect Rondo to be on the floor a ton a minutes, making a true backup a minor detail.

HitsterParticipantGreat pick up for the Celtics gives them even more bench fire power now and more than compensates for the loss of Ray Allen if Terry’s signing hadn’t already done so.

Brew Meister SmithParticipantIf you haven’t noticed on the broadcasts, Tommy Heinsohn has already been flipping out over how fast Courtney Lee can get down the floor. The team in general has become much faster, but adding the Blur to the mix takes it to new heights. Picture TD type passing from Rondo / Garnett / Darko off the boards down to a streaking Lee / Barbosa / Bradley. It will be a throwback to the Chief to a streaking Ange for the easy layup.
Sweet!

omphalosParticipantI’m really liking the new-look Celtics, my guys are finally going to be able to keep up with the more athletic teams in the NBA and our bench is just ridiculously deep. Hopefully Doc will find a way to work all these guys into a rotation in the regular season and keep the starters fresh for the playoffs, but it’s a great season to be a Celtics fan, I can only hope we make it to the end of the season intact and get to see what this roster can do when fully healthy.
As far as who can play the backup point, I think they’ll let Bradley handle the ball some, he’s got the potential to be a great combo guard, but really they have enormous flexibility with lineups. I wish the season would hurry up and get here!

the I in winParticipantBoston now needs to make a trade getting rid of some shooting guards for a quality center and they still would have good backcourt depth.
