knicksfreakParticipantWith the player measurements out, it might sound absurd to add another SF but I like Clark. He could be one player on our roster that is actually big for his position. Drafting him can let us afford to let Harrington go. I think he has as much upside as anyone in the draft.
Nobody else that could be available at 8 has his upside except possibly Jennings, Derozan, or Evans.
Draft picks in this years draft arent really coveted so we could trade back in to get a PG like Teague or Maynor and a SG like Ellington, Green, Budinger or Smith.
Lineup;
C- Lee one of the best rebounders in the league is still improving
PF- Clark great size and all around game could excel in this system
SF- Gallo great shooter who can hit big shots
SG- Chandler great slasher is always improving
PG- Teague/Maynor athletic distibutors0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/30/2009 - 3:29pm #154556
QHaynes123NYC needs to look at LAMAR ODOM

bobbybParticipantIf they are going to get Lebron, they must surround him with shooters like the cavs did, having multiple guys who are drivers/slashers are a waste

thekingParticipantThere is no way that Lebron James is leaving Cleveland. They will pay him what he is worth. This idea that James will make more money playing for the Knicks is absurd. The knicks are going to have to get D-Wade or Chris Bosh or most likely Carmelo Anthony who went to Syracuse. Let’s be realistic people. Lebron is never leaving Cleveland. Plain and simple.

bobbybParticipantthere is a rumor that he gets a huge bonus from nike if he signs with a major market team. If it is true he will go to knicks. Otherwise he will stay because the cavs will have the option to pay lebron more than other teams can offer.

knicksfreakParticipantEveryone knows about his incentive. The best thing to happen for this possibilty to happen was Cleveland losing. If they dont win again next year he might consider leaving. However the Nets look more attractive at this point.

ethomas5679ParticipantDraft Johnny Flynn. Hes a Syracuse kid so he loves the knicks and will be loved by the fan’s. He plays great defense and is very fast. Avoid curry who reminds me of a former college great, J.J. Reddick
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:07pm #157224

knicksfreakParticipantI agree on Curry but I’d rather have a solid player and lock down defender like Holiday. We need to start adding defense to this team. Some people thinks Clark is going to slip and Detroit may be willing to sell their pick at 15. Its about time we had a good draft.

Tar86ekParticipanttrade for next years monster draft. trade lee for next years number 1 draft pick and this years early second pick.
acquire multiple picks midseason for our expiring contracts.
then you will have a young team mixed with a veteran team.
you will have
nate robinson
gallinari
this years pick
next years picks
eddy curry
chandler
one top free agent
and other signees.in other words you will have a roster that you can change any way you want and compete for 10 years.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/07/2009 - 9:26am #157999

knicksfreakParticipantno way we re-sign nate. curry will only play to try to get his trade value up. amare looks like the only big free agent we can sign. get a pg in this draft and sign gerald green. sign amare next year. it would be great to get a pick in next years draft but everyone knows how good it will be and wont give up their picks.
0- Posted on: Mon, 06/08/2009 - 10:02am #158539
Tar86ekParticipantlets say we get lebron then we will have the best athletes who can compete in lebron, nate, chandler, wow, or instead of lebron, wade, if not wade then bosh, if not bosh then stoudamire. we can then add joe johnson.

knicksfreakParticipantNate is a chucker who plays no D. Why would we waste cap space on him. If we re-sign him we wouldnt be able to get 2 players. I dont see Lebron coming and will bet anything that Wade isnt coming. Amare is better than Bosh but he gets injured too often. Most likely scenerio is an Amare and Joe J reunion with D’Antoni. Dont get me wrong, I’d love to get Lebron but I just doubt he leaves Cleveland.

TheProfessor76ParticipantI hear ny fans say James is coming to MSG the greatest arena in sports.why not ….because he’ll probally be able to make his own Msg across town with his buddy’s team the Brooklyn Nets. The can offer him everything the Knicks could except for a fresh start with a chance to build a franchise and his own legacy to that of hall of fame status even if he retires at 30…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/10/2009 - 9:06am #159932

knicksfreakParticipantMost of us dont think he is coming.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/10/2009 - 3:27pm #160333
fliptonnParticipantlebron can only get so much money in salary in 2010. but with new york the point is that he will get other endorsements. his face will be all over new york. billboards, restaurants, everything and thats why hell go there. plus there will be media all over him making him more and more internationally known especially if they win. the knicks need to build a team to show lebron he can win with them. for starters…GET RUBIO
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 6:46am #160983

TroyDParticipantRemember Lebron is good friends with Curry
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 10:32pm #161836

knicksfreakParticipantAnd Jayz and a million other people. Do you really think they’re “good” friends? Do you really think Lebron would come to NY because “The Great” Stephen Curry is here? Give me a break. I have a bridge I can sell you too if you’re interested.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 5:45am #161959

TroyDParticipantYeah but the bridge Donny Walsh is selling is much better. Theres a difference between Lebron’s business friends and his friendly friends. Obviously hes not going to come because Stephen Curry is here but it would help.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/12/2009 - 7:09am #162031

knicksfreakParticipantI think Lebron wants to play with the best players available. Not a little buddy. Its not like they hang out anyways. They’ve gone to eachothers games. Whoohoo. The knicks should just draft the whole Akron team. We know he likes them.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/14/2009 - 11:25am #164072
Tar86ekParticipantlebron is not coming to the knicks because he can get an extra year from the current team he is in and that means an extra 25 million. the knicks will get bosh because he is a buisnessman, he wants to be in the states, and he will get more recognition. the knicks will then bring in joe johnson.
Bosh
gallinari
chandler
johnson
currythis will be the starting five and the bench will be strong because the salary isn’t as much. Joe johnson won’t ask for a max contract. hell probably get a 4 year 38 million deal.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/14/2009 - 11:36am #164085

knicksfreakParticipantNo way Johnson is signed for less than 10 million a year. I agree the most likely scenerio is that we sign Amare or Bosh and Johnson. However, dont forget that there are very good free agents in 2011 also. We will have alot of cap room then.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/14/2009 - 3:48pm #164315

TroyDParticipantNo Joe Johnson will take under $10 Million. This year he averaged over 21points a game and close to 6 assists. He will get at least $14 million.Remember there are alot of good free agents in 2010 which will drive free agent contracts up.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/15/2009 - 10:41am #164988
NYK2010ParticipantWalsh is creative he might find a team willing to take Jeffries or Curry’s contract & then the Knicks have even more cap room. People arein love w/LeBron staying in Cleveland whats the incentive the team has an old Center, a PF w/ no offense, 2 small guards starting. The bench is Wally, Joe Smith, Gibson, Wallace, Hickson what contending team has a worse bench. If it was about the extra year he would’ve done that with his last contract like Carmello Anthony. He says he wants to build the LeBron brand and most likely he’ll be in a big market to do that. Also a lot of vets would love to play in NY in 2010 besides Wade.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/17/2009 - 2:01pm #166831
Tar86ekParticipantlet me ask this question to everyone?
would you leave a job where A- Everyone loves you, B- You get 10% more than you would get anywhere else. C-You live near your family and lifetime friends, and you can get all the endorsements you would get in new york. its a myth that he would get more endorsements. nike, gatorade and mcdonalds are national products. Jordan and tiger did it why not lebron.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/17/2009 - 6:43pm #167076

Mr.CreativeParticipant2010 is the main focus of Mr.Walsh. Getting King James or some other player such as Wade, Bosh, Amare’ is their objective. If getting Lebron to NY fails, there is such much other all-star caliber players the Knicks could get in 2010’s free agency market. Walsh definitely always has a back up plan when all else fails. Everyone labels 2010, the “Summer of Lebron” but teams that will have cap room should also look at other players besides Lebron. It’s obvious that Lebron will be showered with many off-the-wall contracts. It’s crunch time in 2010!!
0- Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 7:18pm #168931

bkbroilerParticipanthe already stated in a s florida paper that wouldnt like to play in new york because of the winter weather, he likes south beach. its either lebron or amare..or bust. in 2010

meisi4Participanto don´t think wade or lebron are coming. i see NY is a big market especially for bron but i think he is only trying to put CLE under pressure to make the team better. wade isn´t coming because he would be stupid to leave talented and sunny miami to come to NY…
the idea of signing curry to make lebron come sounds to me like an idea out of isah thomas mind… in other words just stupid! no offense but the best idea i read here was trading up for rubio that would make NY more interesting for bron.
most possible we will have to go for bosh or amare (i don´t see johnson making the mistake of leaving a talented team again) and get the most avalible talent around them (hopefully starting this year = not going for curry)

NYK2010ParticipantLike Lebron is making so much more money in Cleveland.
If you knew anything about taxes you’d know that Florida and Texas are 2 stats that have no state tax.
So based on money he would rather sign with them.
Since you don’t know about business I’ll clue you in, New York City is a huge business place especially for entertainment.
Guys can expand their brand names there and thats what a guy like Lebron seems to be going for.0 - AuthorPosts
