seniokasParticipantHere is some footage from Harrison Barnes’ predraft training, interesting note the coach that helps him train is the same Kyrie Irving was working out before the draft.
Also, I was really impressed with Barnes frame, didn’t know that he has such a strong frame and muscular arms.
It’s very nice from his side to visit all those kid’s in hospital I believe it’s really a pretty big thing for kids to be visited by such a well known athlete who may be a NBA star one day.

omphalosParticipantBarnes’ handle looks a lot better already, and he seems a lot leaner than he was at UNC. The guy just radiates confidence, I really hope MJ gives him a chance with the second overall pick, would love to see him in a Bobcats uniform (especially now they don’t look as ugly).

FastAndFuriousParticipantI thought Harrison Barnes was overrated big time, and I still kinda do…..but after seeing this video I think his biggest problem is his…confidence.
Regardless to what anyone says this video shows he’s quicker than anyone thought, and he can handle the ball and really get up, I think he has all the tools to be everything scouts said he could be, he just has to have that confidence to play how he is capable of playing, I didn’t know he could move like that.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantit’s easy to look good in an empty gym with nobody guarding you. Let’s see how his handle looks with athletic 3’s breathing down his neck…

IndianaBasketballParticipantI still have big doubts about his handle and his confidence while handling in tight spaces.
I like Harrison Barnes and think he’ll be a solid NBA player, but the 2nd pick is too high. It’s a bad fit for MJ and his Bobcats, and Harrison Barnes.

2quick4uParticipantthis guy is gonna kill in the nba.. he’ll be a steal if not picked between the first 4. I really believe he’s gonna have a 20+ pts PG career.
player like vince carter or paul pierce were not good creating their shot their first 2 years of college but the talent was there and look the careers they had.

HaleParticipantI don’t get why you would doubt his confidence. Maybe his confidence in attacking the rim, but overall he’s a very confident player.

lalailaParticipanthere we go..he looks really explosive and fast in this video maybe still not historical great leaper but a very good one..
i will stay with my opinion that he might be the same Harrison Barnes from UNC in his first 2-3 yrs but he is so hardworker and so intelligent that i believe he can improve his overall game and especially his handles and agressiveness drastically and when he will get it when he will start to blow by people we will see his athleticism in game time too and that only will help his offensive game even more..

chocboywndrParticipantI have said this before and I will say it again in 3 years when you look back on this draft Barnes will be the second best player if not the best. With his athletic ability, shooting stroke and work ethic sky is limit for this guy. You look at now he can get in the gym as much as he wants with coaches to help him get better without having to worry about school and classes, he is my pick for ROY.

seniokasParticipantFully agree with you, that’s exactly what I’m thinking. I’m definetely not objective because he is my favorite player from this draft but I just can not see how a player with such athletic abilities, size , work ethic and intelligence will not succeed.
I’m very confident in him becoming a much better ball handler and creator for both himself and others along with improving post game which will make more or less complete player offensively.
I don’t think that this video shows us anything that we couldn’t have seen last year, maybe he is leaner, slightly more athletic and little bit better ball handler, but I believe that ball handling in game at this high level is more of in game thing and about confidence in your skills because every perimeter player at the NBA level have worked their ass off to improve it. Defintely, some of them have worked more, some less, but what we saw in video from Barnes we can see from probably any perimeter player in the league and from many bigmans too. I believe that ball handling is a lot about confidence, although obviously at first you have to work hard in practices.

PulseGlazerParticipantI don’t recally where I read it, but the issue is apparently footwork. He pivots off the wrong foot, allowing him no space. This does sound correctable, though not easily so, as I’m sure it’s quite a long developed habit.
