inbedwithyomamaParticipantYeah thats the site I go to for all my info too. I don’t think it will happen though because Harden only has 1 year left and I doubt he would sign extension with Charlotte.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantWhy wouldn’t Harden resign with the Bobcats for max dollars? Fans seem to think because a team is bad no one will resign with them, they seem to forget Kevin Love, Durant,Monte Ellis and many other players. Harden is young and young players tend to try to get max money. Once they get older they tend to want to go somewhere else that has a better chance of winning a title. And a NBA agetn isn’t telling the player " hey lets go to the Lakers for less money to win a title" because that takes away from the agents pocket. The aggent is telling the player "stay with the Bobcats so you can get over paid (more money in the agents pocket)", and players tend to listen to agents

surveParticipantFirst of all, lets get this straight….Harden DOES NOT want to leave OKC. I think its safe to assume that…however, if it becomes inevitable…what better place to go than Charlotte? He would be an instant star. If a player cant win immediately, then why not get a max deal and make yourself very rich? Look at the past where you had a guy like Arenas sign, then get injured…more recently, last year’s MVP. Harden needs to cash in if he cant stay with OKC….I think he will resign if he gets sent there.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantI read a similar report on ESPN. Not saying the Thunder are looking to do it but they are obviously thinking about it since they wont be able to have four players on the roster reciving big contracts.
ESPN-
To get Beal, the Thunder would undoubtedly have to move James Harden, the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year. League sources said the Thunder wouldn’t be able to avoid serious tax issues if they had to pay lucrative contracts to all four of their marquee players in Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka and Harden. The first two won’t be moved. But to trade Harden to a team such as Charlotte would be a risk for the receiving team since there is no guarantee Harden would sign a long-term deal beyond the one year remaining on his contract. Also, the Thunder would be disrupting a team that was three wins away from winning an NBA title.

seventhParticipantI see no reason why Harden wouldn’t resign with the Bobcats if he’s traded there. He gets max money. He’s the Star. He has Michael Jordan to mentor him and eventually Bobcats WILL become agood team so..

SubZeroParticipantI’m gonna cry if he leaves, man I love Harden so much and the Big 3 had such good chemistry…but Beal is one of my favorite players in this draft and I would love for him to play with us. I just don’t know if I want them to get rid of Harden. I’m attached to the players on this team. I was mad at first when we traded away Jeff Green because our team was so close, but Harden would be even worse.
Still, Beal would be a great fit for us

strobox88ParticipantHarden is currently on a team that not only made the NBA Finals this year, but could get there for years to come. I see no reason for him to want to go to Charlotte unless it’s for the money.

Sam_HinkieParticipantI’d rather wait and see if Drummond drops and see if anyone was willing to take Ibaka for Drummond…to me, thunder don’t lose much with Nick Collison playing smart defense, rather than Ibaka’s more athletic shot blocking. Drummond comes off bench giving athleticism and hopefully develops into post scorer that they NEED to win rings.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Thunder are realizing that they can’t afford Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka.
They’re making the choice and they’re keeping Ibaka instead of Harden.

RapCityParticipantHarden is amazing and IMO the leagues best shooting guard under 30. (Excluding Kobe and Wade) This is going to break all Oklahoma city fans hearts but it’s the right thing to do. For one, the money issue. Sucks how the new CBA was supposed to reward small market teams with drafting well instead of breaking them up.
Secondly, Brad Beal may be a better fit in the long run. Westbrook, Harden and Durant are all players who need the ball to be effective. Beal would offer more of a spot up threat and balance to their starting line up. This moves put the ball into Durant’s hands more to shoot. Charlotte gets a face to their franchise and a superstar talent SG on their roster.
