The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThe Sixers recently worked out a group of Bigs that included Pj III, T. Jones and A. Moultrie, they liked Moultrie’s motor, Jones’s NBA Ready body and PJ III’s overall skillset and potential…
After reading between the lines of several sites and Twitter accounts Lol, I think the Sixers have narrowed their list down PJ III or Terrence Jones, I believe T.J is too similar to Thad Young and the allure of drafting and developing Perry Jones III into the stud of the 2012 Draft is moving the 76ers closer to making the high risk/high reward…
Keeping their options open, they are still high on Terrence Ross who they worked out a few weeks ago…He’s recently been shooting up draft boards and the 76ers had to begin looking at Bigmen…
They also recently worked out Meyers Leonard in a solo session but he’s likely to be gone by the time 76ers select and Rod Thorn has insisted he’s not moving up from their spot at 15…
The 76ers Couldn’t get Jared Sullinger in for a work out in time for the draft but have been rumored to like him too although he’s got some serious Injury concerns (they are interested in trading for Sullinger if he begins to free fall like Carlos Boozer did a few years ago, although many feel he wont get past Cleveland at 24)…

F_DA_POParticipanti could see PJ getting taken by them. I can’t decide between him or Moultrie, I feel Moultrie would be a good player off the bench for them and fits their needs. Def can’t see them taking Terrence Jones for the reasons you mentioned (thad young).

machu46ParticipantI read somewhere to watch for the 76ers to be the team that takes Terrence Jones. They’re supposedly the reason that he’s going to be in attendance at the draft despite not being invited.
However, Milwaukee is also in love with Terrence. As a Bucks fan, I’m praying we take PJIII, Ross, Lamb, or Zeller and stay as far away from Terrence as possible, but we’ll see.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantAnd if I were the Bucks drafting at 14, I’d take a guy like Terrence Jones in a heart beat …He can handle the ball and rebound when Jennings and Ellis chuck up those bad shots…
He makes sense at Sf/Pf, he could be the 6th man ala Thad Young/Lamar Odom…he could crack the starting lineup and become a stud in Milwuakee…They do have Tobias Harris the F from Tennessee, but I think Jones still has plenty of potential and can be a starter very soon…
Ross and Lamb will not be there when the Bucks select at 14, Zeller could be but that’s another long shot…out of the players available at 14 Terrence Jones makes the most sense for The Bucks because he can play Sf/Pf and contribute right away…

machu46ParticipantI disagree. I think you’d have to wait a few years for Terrence to be able to contribute to any team, and I don’t think he’s nearly a good enough ball-handler or shooter to play SF in the NBA.
Perry Jones is a significantly better ball-handler than Terrence, and Milwaukee already has Drew Gooden, Ekpe Udoh, Larry Sanders, and possibly Ersan Ilyasova at the PF position. Terrence would be buried just like Larry Sanders has been ever since we drafted him.
Tobias Harris played great in the last couple of games for Milwaukee, but Perry is a special talent. In the right system, he could be one of the top 5 players in this draft. Terrence doesn’t have that ceiling.
If you go back and watch Terrence’s game film, he basically either hooked his man to get by and then dunked it, or he used his strength/length to shoot over people. He won’t have that ability in the NBA. Perry Jones is a much more versatile offensive player and is a lot more similar to Lamar Odom than Terrence Jones is.

Codyb1701ParticipantT-Jones has handles and is very much like Lamar Odom, play either SF or PF in regular set and then mismatch PF in small ball. Perry Jones on the other hand is Antony Randolph2.0.

machu46ParticipantEh, Jones is a sloppy ball-handler. All he’s really capable of right now is making one dribble and then trying to use his good first step to get by slower PFs. He’d be absolutely eaten alive playing on the perimeter against SFs in the NBA. He’s more in the Blake Griffin mold as a face-up PF, but he doesn’t have the skills that Griffin has (though he’s a much better defender) or the motor. Perry Jones is a lot more similar to Odom/Tim Thomas.
PJIII plays like a tall SF. Terrence plays like a tweener, kinda like Derrick Williams, but Williams is a better shooter and more of the SF size.

sixer23Participantyoung and jones are not the same player jones is a true PF at 6-10 and 252 young on the other hand is 6-8 225 which makes him a tweener they both might have outside games and but jones can handle the ball better and is more athletic

Tha King2121ParticipantI believe the Sixers wish list is
1. Terrence Ross 2. Perry Jones 3. Arnett Moultie

TruettParticipantall three players are projects…. I actually think that PJIII is closer to a bigger version of Young than Young is to T. Jones. Look at their athletic testing.. almost exactly the same absent the size difference… neither can shoot from outside and I think that Jones III will score in the NBA in the same way that young does.. cuts & putbacks
