vulture711ParticipantHmnnnn – mysterious absence of International players from the 1st round ?? What gives ? NBA teams finally smartening up ? Usually there are 2-3 speckled through the lottery boasting of vast potential while averaging 5 pts and 3 rbs on their club team

UNCbasketballbumParticipantI was going to post something about this earlier. I am really glad the fascination of international players has subsided for this year. GM’s have too many wet dreams over finding the next Dirk. The list of international flameouts over the past 5-10 drafts is incredible. The 6’9" 190 pound guy playing in Budapest averaging 6 points, 3 rebounds, IS NOT ready for the NBA.

Wahoo757ParticipantI’m willing to bet on Fournier being a 1st round pick, but you’re right, there is a lack of talent in the international crop this year.

ChewyParticipantprospect is a SG you can never have high hopes for the rest of them. Almost every year there is a 7 footer from some country that the NBA is looking at.

False. There is a lack of talent amongst NBA coaches, scouts, and general managers. They are very incompetent and don’t have the first freaking clue about any players outside the USA.
