Larry Bird has decided to call it quits as president of the Indiana Pacers. Bird is “100 percent sure” he will not return as president of the team, a person with direct knowledge of the situation told The Star on Monday. Indianapolis Star.

Your reaction? How will it effect the Pacers next season?

Very odd. He has done a great job in Indy.

He seems to get bored quickly. Bird was only the coach for a few years and he took them to the finals. Shortly after he stepped down as coach. I wonder what challenge he’s looking for…maybe he’s going to join the Celtics organization.

kinda strange, he went through a few years of mediocrity and he finally saw his project pan out this year and then quits?

Very odd, especially with the draft right around the corner, perhaps he had a different idea than the GM & other management had regarding the draft and how to proceed with the team from this point.

What does this mean for Lance Stephenson now?

    Hmmm… This is very odd.

Bird said not too long ago that he wanted to return and it all depended on Herb Simon bringing him back.

The fact Bird is re-signing means there had to be some sort of problem between him and Herb Simon.

Very very very odd… Bird has done a great job turning this team around here. A shame he is leaving now when things are finally looking upwards.
