Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantAnd the draft kicks off with ChrisCross, if after 5 minutes a pick is not entered (which he eluded to it was Anthony Davis couple of days ago) a pick will be made for you. (Anthony Davis)
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:09am #686471

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantAnd with the 1st pick, the New Orleans Hornets select Anthony Davis
ChrisCross: "Obviously #1 is Anthony Davis, if you suggesting the possibility of something, anything else, you will be fed to the ryback."
Charlotte Bobcats are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:16am #686475

Wahoo757ParticipantThe owner of the pick said he wasn’t going to be here. Look at the bottom of their war room for their pick.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:17am #686478

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 2nd pick, the Charlotte Bobcats select: Harrison Barnes
Seam015:
For the Charlotte Bobcats there is no sure fire solution to fix their epidemic of problems. To determine their greatest need isn’t any easy task, with a multitude of issues contributing to the equal worst season record in NBA history. However, the most evident need is a scorer; evident through the highest scorer last season being Gerald Henderson, with a dismal 15.1 PPG.
The 6’8 Harrison Barnes fills that void and presents the Bobcats with a go to scorer for the future. His 17.3 points a game Barnes has proved he can score and do so in a variety of ways. His efficiency from outside and midrange is well documented, with a silky smooth and high release. If he can develop his ability to create his own shot then he will become a deadly scoring option in this league. We know he has the tools to achieve this, both in his offensive mechanics and his athleticism, which combined could result in an array of powerful and effective finishes.
Perhaps the most endearing trait I find in Harrison’s game is his attitude. This guy is a flat out competitor! He wants to work, he wants to improve and in the NBA there are plenty of people to assist him. The defensive scheme that the Bobcats new coach Dunlap has used throughout his career really supports Barnes’ game, giving him a setting that allows his offensive game to flourish.
During his workout with the Bobcats, Barnes impressed his potential new coach Dunlap through his ability to score and his athleticism. One point of interest was Barnes wanting to challenge Jordan to a shootout. It’s this competitive nature that Jordan embodied in his career and is a sought after trait by GM’s.
Washington Wizards (I May Be Wrong) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:18am #686479

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 3rd pick, the Washington Wizards select: Bradley Beal
I May Be Wrong:
I’ll be leaving shortly but in case I couldn’t make it at the start time, the Washington wizards select …. BRAD BEAL! (if Charlotte is selecting Barnes as expected)
Cleveland Cavaliers (buckeyefan17) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:27am #686485

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 4th pick, the Cleveland Cavaliers select: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Couldn’t find any concrete evidence as to who they wanted exactly. buckeyefan17 was leaning towards Drummond or MKG and since he is not active, I believe MKG would be the better fit for the Cavaliers.
Sacramento Kings (aminipanda) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:34am #686488

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 5th pick, the Sacramento Kings select: Thomas Robinson
Another inactive user but I believe the Kings take Thomas Robinson here. Taking a chance on Andre Drummond when Thomas Robinson is still on the board doesn’t seem like a good idea. While both players would fill a need (PF), Thomas Robinson has shown what he can do, unlike Andre Drummond. He’s a more mature player and would become the natural leader the Sacramento Kings lack. Maybe how hard/smart he plays rubs off on DeMarcus Cousins (a la Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan).
Portland Trailblazers (davidstern) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:39am #686491

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantWith the 6th pick in the 2012 Nbadraft.net user mock draft, the Portland Trail Blazers select: Andre Drummond.
He fills the hole at Center for us and with his upside and the opportunity to learn from LaMarcus Aldridge he has a great chance to reach his potential.

0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:46am #686494

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 7th, the Golden State Warriors select: Meyers Leonard
burningflood:
"To get things started, I’m thinking Leonard/Lillard/PJ3 in that order if none of the consensus top 6 (Davis, Drummond, Beal, T-Rob, Barnes, MKG) fall."
Toronto Raptors (thatsh!tkray) are on the clock

0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:50am #686501

thatshitkrayParticipantGood athletic player that brings production with a ton of upside, great shooting stroke, and a huge wingspan. He has top 5 talent and grabbing him here would be a steal if he can fulfill his potential.

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantWait… is this user mock draft different from the one initially proposed by another user (don’t remember his name) because I asked to get the 76ers’ pick???!! I might have missed it lately because I was passing my end-of-high-school exams this week

Yes, it’s a different one since the other way never really went underway
Current picks taken:
- New Orleans – Anthony Davis

- Sacramento – Thomas Robinson
- Portland – Andre Drummond
- Golden State – Meyers Leonard
- Toronto – Jeremy Lamb
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:54am #686505

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI was sort of surprised with that pick as well. I guess he’s insurance incase Bogut gets injured again and with Barnes/MKG off the board, any other SF would have been a reach.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:54am #686504

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantBecoming a little bit crowded in the frontcourt on the Warriors. They really could have used a SF or a SG.

0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 9:58am #686507

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 9th pick, the Detroit Pistons select: Tyler Zeller
providencefriars1
"Okay with this pick (#9) im looking at Zeller, Leonard, and Moultrie to start but im open to look elsewhere. Let the discussions begin"
With Leonard gone and Zeller being the first mentioned name, I felt as if that’s the player he wanted.

Chris Cross
"So lets get some chatter on #10. prospects to consider at #10
Damian Lilard – PG
Kendall Marshall – PG
Marquis Teague – PG"
Damian Lillard is the first prospect he mentioned in his list which is why I’m guessing that he’s going with him.

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantWith the 11th pick in the 2012 Nbadraft.net user mock draft, the Portland Trail Blazers select: Kendall Marshall.
Well, Lillard is already taken and we need a Pointguard. No trades are allowed so the best thing to do is to reach for Marshall. He will be great running the floor with our young guys and playing pick and roll with Drummond and Aldridge. He will have to work on his defense though.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:13am #686523

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantY2G
Only problem is, Tyler Zeller is already off the board lmao
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:14am #686524

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantWhy? We already have Matthews who is in his prime and is a good starting Sg in the league. And we don’t have a legit Pointguard on our roster.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:18am #686531

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 12th pick, the Milwaukee Bucks select: Arnett Moultrie
Seeing as Arnett Moultrie was the only players (aside from Leonard and Zeller) to be mentioned in the Bucks War room, it seems as if he’s a good fit for them.
YSUFan10
"If I’m Bucks I go with Arnett Moultrie or Meyers Leonard or maybe even Royce White. I think Moultrie makes the most sense because he isn’t that raw. The Bucks have poor good big men and Moultrie is a very good rebounder and I think that he will be a better pro than Zeller. Henson is definitley a great option at this pick, but Henson is skinny and not a great offensive talent. The Bucks need offense, and Moultrie and White can make the most immediate impact sooner than later. Leonard has potential to develop, but he is a bit of a risk."

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 14th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets select Austin Rivers, shooting guard from Duke.
(Yeah, I’m copying the way Y2G wrote it lmao)
I feel as if the addition of Rivers will make Kevin Martin expendable. We’ve gotten a fair amount of trade offers for Kevin Martin and rumors about him going to the Timberwolves, Lakers, Grizzlies, and the Clippers.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantTerrence Ross Shooting Guard Washington…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:31am #686540

burningfloodParticipantSorry I missed it. But TOL-23 got the pick right. The Warriors go with Meyers Leonard for the following reasons:
1) the warriors have no big man depth behind Bogut and Lee. Biedrins is a zombie at this point in his career. Tyler is raw as hell right now.
2) Leonard’s got the frame, the athleticism, and the potential. He’s a good value pick as well.
3) Klay cannot guard SFs. He’s a 2 guard. So while Waiters is a better player than Leonard right now, having him only solidifies the 3 guard rotation of Curry/Thompson/Waiters, and does nothing to fill the hole at 3.
I’ll be here for the 30th pick.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:33am #686546

RedDead93ParticipantMarshall is too much of a ? and i don’t think he will be a starter on a playoff team, oh well I am sure in the real draft we will trade up to get lillard.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHouston Rockets (TOL23) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:37am #686551

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThe 76ers need an outside shooter on the roster, our best 3point threat is a Free Agent(Jodi Meeks)
Not to mention Lou Williams has opted out of his last year and leaves us thin in the backcourt…
Turner will slide to Sf if we can find a Trade Partner for Andre Iguadola…We want a Power Foward…
I could have drafted Sullinger, Henson or PJ III but I felt like Ross was the safer pick and a sure fire Steal at 15…
I’m willing to trade Andre Iguadola to Minnesota for the 18th pick, Darko Milicic and The Rights to Micheal Beasley(Sign and trade, 5 years/42 million dollar extension)
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:38am #686549

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIdeally we would trade down because Leonard, Moultrie, and Zeller are all gone but here it goes
With the 16th pick in the 2012 NBA draft, the Houston Rockets select John Henson, power forward from North Carolina.
Although we already have plenty of forwards, Henson is BPA here and our only other hole is at PG. With Lillard and Marshall both gone and Teague being a reach we have to hope Henson can develop into a Marcus Camby type of guy and we can play him at center.
Dallas Mavericks (Spacegrass) are on the clock

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI don’t think we’re going to be doing the 2nd round
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:41am #686550

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantI probably wont’t be around when picks 41&42 come, so:
We want to draft another Pg and another Center to come off the bench for us.
My board would be:
Pg
Tomas Satoransky
Tyshawn Taylor
Maalik Wayns
Josep Franch
C
Henry Sims
Robert Sacre
(At least one of them should be available)
But… IF DARIUS JOHNSON-ODOM IS AVAILABLE WE WILL PICK HIM INSTEAD OF THE CENTER. He is a great shooter and with a Pg like Marshall and an already dangerous frontcourt with Aldridge and Drummond coming in he will get plenty of open looks.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 18th pick in the 2012 NBA draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select Perry Jones, forward from Baylor.
Sewok15
"I am a big fan of his game in case you didn’t know this already. I think someone will scoop him up before this spot but if he is available here take him over any other mentioned players outside of the obvious shooting guards. I can just picture him now catching lobs from Rubio and although the Wolves have a logjam on 3/4 hybrid players I think they would have enough size for a frontline of Love, DWilliams, Perry Jones III down the road"
Orlando Magic (Cheyenne Lawton) are on the clock

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThe T’Wolves get Iggy and the 54th pick
The Sixers get Brad Miller(Buy Out), Martell Webster and the 18th pick(Jared Sullinger/Perry Jones III)…
it works on the NBA trade machine…
The Wolves get an lock down Sf to run with Rubio, Williams and Love…
The Sixers get an underrated rookie Pf in Sullinger/Jones III and a 3 point shooter in Webster, Miller would be bought out of his contract…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:51am #686565

Wahoo757ParticipantCan you post another draft summary soon?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:52am #686557
buckeyefan17ParticipantSome reasoning for me picking MKG. The guy has the desire and love of the game. Work ethic is sometimes overlooked when talking about prospects. The man provides leadership and although shot needs work MKG is a outstanding finisher at the rim. His 6’7 230 frame allows him to be a lockdown defender and has the potential to guard at 4 different positions. For me I honestly think Gerald Wallace is his floor. Him and Kyrie have previous played with one another as well which is also a plus.

drk3351Participantguys im not going to be here at the pacers pick for 26, so my big board is this. nicholson – lamb -fournier -teague – melo – taylor – ezili
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:55am #686561
SpacegrassParticipantMavs need help behind Dirk and while PJIII was available I feel the UK Jones brings more versatility and while he has had his own issues with consistency , I see a better motor and more versatility. With the potential to play both forward spots he could be a matchup nightmare at 6’9+ 250+ and a 7’2 wingspan. Hopefully can give them many of the things they were looking for from Lamar Odom when they picked him up lat year.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:56am #686568

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantYeah, you convinced me that we need another Pg more than another wing.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 10:58am #686570

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 19th pick, the Orlando Magic selects Moe Harkless
With Dwight on his way out, the Magic have time to pick a young guy and hope he improves while they’re in the lottery. He can be a great glue-guy in the future if they build a contedor through the draft.

If he is Denver takes him to be our scoring big. Three seven footers in McGee, Koufos and Mozgov can help to make up for some of his issues on D. He will help our half court offence by scoring on the block, from the perimeter and on offensive put-backs. Was a top 5 pick coming in so we take the risk despite the health concerns.

Pick 22-Jeffery Taylor-NBA ready wing that is a very good athlete and defender. Good role player for the Celts. He’s also an underrated shooter and hopefully his offensive skills will continue to develop.0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:26am #686594

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantRoyce White and Festus Ezeli would have been a smart choice to play Pf or C next to Horford…
@Zachb…You also passed on Royce White for an older Sf in Taylor, Why??? You could have drafted Taylor’s team mate John Jenkins and that would have made more sense…Ray Allen is likely to leave in FA…

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantFor some reason, I felt as if buckeye would pick Doron Lamb lmao

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantAlong with PJ III and Sullinger…
TOL23, nice combo of Rivers and Henson, that would be very nice for Houston, but in reality I think Rivers and Henson go before The Rockets select at 14…
I knwe people would let bias and Hype get in the way of making smart moves…
Jared Cunninham at 23, maybe you think he’ll have an Iman Shumpert type of impact on Defense…The Hawks just don’t need a player like that…Wow…I’m amazed…

HitsterParticipantThunder Draft War Room signing in. I timed that fairly well.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:33am #686593
buckeyefan17ParticipantWith the 24th pick the Cavs select… Doron Lamb Sg UK
Wow does the Cavs need 3 point shooting badly! With the only serious 3 point threats being Kyrie Irving and Daniel Gibson. Lamb provides another 3 point shooter with solid size at 6’5 200 pounds. Like MKG played for nation championship team UK and provides excellent leadership.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:35am #686602

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantRoyce White sliding this far is unbelieveable…People did hear about him dominating all the other Pf’s in the class, and he’s about as versatile as a college player gets…Now it looks like The Thunder, Bulls or Heat may get the guy…
Do people know how the Draft works??? You are supposed to draft the best player possible…
Several Players have leap frogged Royce White and for no good reason…Is it because he played at Iowa State???

GrandmamaParticipant// Name dropping
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:38am #686604

Wahoo757ParticipantYou’re right you know everything (sarcasm). Did you think I forgot that Royce White and John Jenkins were on the board? Danny Ainge said that he is going to be aggresive in making one last run so KG and Ray Allen will return more likely than not. If you watched the Celtics you would see that 90% of the time the offense is initiated by either Rajon Rondo or Paul Pierce, so the Celtics wouldn’t even be able to use Royce White’s best abilites most of the time. There has been a revolving door of backup wings the last few years and Jeff Taylor would bring more stability there. I think Jeff Taylor’s a top 20 prospect because he is, as I said, already an excellent athlete and an excellent defender that can guard multiple positions, and his offensive skills have significantly imrpoved while he was at Vandy and even though he was a 4 year player he still has a lot of potential in the NBA, especially learning behind a crafty scorer in Paul Pierce. So I think when Paul Pierce retires, Jeff Taylor can be the C’s next starting SF, and even if Taylor doesn’t develop, he can be a very good role player for a decade.

YSUFan10ParticipantYeah, I wasn’t paying attention that White or Teague was still on the board , but I do believe that Cunningham will turn into a good nba player because of his ability to shoot from the perimeter, his ability to attack of the bounce, and his willingness to play defense and get his teammates involved.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:40am #686605

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 25th pick in the 2012 NBA draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select Marquis Teague
They desperately need a back-up point-guard that plays like Mike Conley and this could be huge help for them off the bench.
Indiana Pacers (drk3351) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:43am #686608
SpacegrassParticipantYea I would of taken Royce White at 20 for Denver if it was up to me. Though his anxiety issues do raise some red flags , ability wise he is a top 10 talent.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:49am #686607
buckeyefan17ParticipantI was thinking about taking a high risk/ high reward player in Royce White or Quincy Miller but I just don’t think they would be very good fits for the Cavs.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:51am #686610

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 26th pick in the NBA draft, the Indiana Pacers select Evan Fournier
Seeing as Evan Fournier was the first player drk3351 mentioned in his war room, I’m guessing that is the player he was interested in the most.
Miami Heat (theONEweALLknow) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:53am #686611

theONEweALLknowParticipantwow i cant believe this guy is still on the board ima make this pick real quick with the 27th pick the miami heat select royce white from iowa st ! for obvious reasons he is a top 10 talent with his only knock being he has a fear of flying but on the court he is a monster and i feel this is a steal in the draft!!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 11:55am #686613

HitsterParticipantThe Thunder select Quincy Miller with 28th pick, he has great length for an SF and will be great for certain match ups plus he may have versatility to play a position either side of SF in due course. Also he can allow KD to reduce his minutes per game a bit as and when required.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantChicago Bulls (Grandmama) are on the clock
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 12:00pm #686620

GrandmamaParticipantWith the 29th pick in the 2012 NBA draft, the Chicago Bulls select, John Jenkins from Vanderbilt University.
It’s been known for years that the Bulls need a SG. Rip Hamiliton is just a stop gap. Jenkins will help spread the floor for Rose and will give the Bulls a nice scoring option at the two. He’s also said to have a great work ethic and will fit in well with Thibadeau’s system.

burningfloodParticipantWith the 30th pick the Warriors select Fab Melo.
Melo is a big who can defend and pass. He can anchor a zone, and if he works on his conditioning and shot he can develop an offensive game.
I honestly didn’t expect to see him here at this pick, but Melo’s got some potential even with his questionable bball iq.

GrandmamaParticipantI’d like to hear Aran’s thoughts on our draft.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 12:15pm #686627

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIt’s actually not half bad, a couple of reaches here and there but overall, pretty solid.
I don’t know about the Jared Cunningham pick lmao but everything else is pretty standard
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 12:20pm #686628

GrandmamaParticipantThe biggest question I have is why would Golden St. take two centers in Leonard (7th) and Fab Melo (30th)? I also thought Jared Cunningham was a head scratcher. Can’t believe Royce White fell that low with all the recent hype.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 12:36pm #686630

couch gmParticipantNever in a million years thought that at 20 Denver would have the choice of Sullinger, Royce White and Dorron Lamb. If the draft works out this way for us I will be extremely pleased. Honestly feel some of the guys drafted from mid-latter stages of the round could settle into the NBA quicker than some of those drafted 1-10.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/23/2012 - 12:58pm #686635
fcb206Participantbiggest joke in this mock is Wroten falling out of the first round. His shortcoming are well documented on this site and across the basteball universe, but he is one of the few guys in the draft outside of Anthony Davis who has a superstar cieling. I dont see him slipping past any of the teams with two first round picks, and I wouldnt be surprised if portland takes him at 11 next week. I cant beleive a single NBA GM has Jared Cunningham ahead of him on draft boards. Cunningham has all the same red flags- position questions, no jumper, turnover prone, with none of Wroten’s upside.

I May Be WrongParticipantFinally getting a chance to look at the draft! I liked this! Great selections and some surprises in there but its good to see this from a forum. I would love to see how this draft compares to the final mock and the actual draft. Maybe we should see how this ranks (or how many points it gets) on the draft contest.

Thanks! Hopefully we can do it next season as well! Legendary did pretty much all of the prep-work though lmao
IMWB
I was thinking about making an account and using this as it’s mock-draft but without the 2nd round, we wouldn’t maximize our points lmao
Big thanks to everybody that contributed ideas, picks, and time to this event! Special thanks to Legendary Poster for all the help! This couldn’t have worked out with your help bro
