TripleDoubleScoutParticipantHistorically cap clearing trades before the mean that there is a bigger trade about to go down. New Orleans also still has valuable assets to trade. I’ll let y’all f igure out who the target is but I’ll lay out the pieces involved from new Orleans side:The number 10 pick, next year’s 1st rounder, kaman (sign and trade), and expiring contracts. Gordon and Davis will not be involved. This may even be part of a three team trade. Any guesses?

TyroberParticipantCan’t a team just clear some cap room and save some money? They traded 2 overpaid players for caproom. Great trade.

Andrew1984ParticipantDoesn’t smell like Tyreke Evans or Dwight Howard.

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantOh btw this move isn’t to sign a big free agent straight up. Anyone who believes a top 10 player is voluntarily going to new orleans even with Davis is a fool. The fact is this means blockbuster trade, period. New Orleans has decided to go for the throat NOW.

bloodshyParticipantI’ve read rumors of a Jazz-Hornets trade including Millsap for the 10th overall pick on three different sites in the last two days, both before and after this trade. Most likely the rumors were pure inventions of a blogger with no basis in reality. However, I could see the Hornets preferring to pair Davis up with a skilled big (Jefferson or Millsap) rather than with any of the options that will be available at #10. And I could see the Jazz willing to make that trade even though both players have more value than a #10 pick since they have a serious logjam in their front court. If anything happens it will most likely be on draft night after the draft has already started.

sheltwon3ParticipantHornets would be dumb to make any moves now. They have young players and have a chance to rebuild like OKC while winning a decent amount of games.

Andrew1984ParticipantI could see Utah trading Millsap or Jefferson to someone for a pick that could land them Damian Lillard. Nobody likes Devin Harris in Utah and Alec Burks had some nice moments on the wing, but doesn’t look like the PG of the future in Mormon Country.

lilballa141ParticipantNot possible but would it be realistic for the hornets to trade the 1 n 10 pick + others (excluding Gordon) for Dwight Howard and (other) ?
