nick5354ParticipantAustin Rivers has had some rough shooting preformaces in the workouts. It is no secret he has had some horrbile shooting drills. He has not impressed on that area, but what I have been noticing is his very impressive interviews. Coaches have been amazed about this kid. Some people call it cockiness or arrogence, but coaches recognise he has the will and Cofidence needed to secceed in the NBA. He has put those concerns of him being "uncoachable" to rest in the interview process as well. Coaches have expressed his brillant demanor demonstrated.
When asked a question regarding the role he could play in the NBA he responded "I‘m not just going to get the ball and go out there and dance…That’s not how it works. There are to many great players in the NBA.’

TallmanNYCParticipantOf course he is good at talking to NBA coaches. He had one in his house growing up. He hung out around NBA teams since he was a kid. Yes, he will not be phased by questions. But he is supposed to be an elite scorer and at least 50 other SGs scored more points per game then him in college. And he brings nothing else to the table but that very average scoring.
He looks good out there at times, but he has to become a LOT better before he will be able to score in the NBA in any way that actually helps his team win.

mosdefParticipantshooting and range all come in time unless you are a freak of a jump shooter. he can get to the rim and thats what really matters. Dwyane Wade extended is range. So did Michael Jordan. ALot of Guards develop range when they get into the NBA. It comes with more coaching and strength

you fail to realize he was just a frosh and against better competition he flurished even when the rest of his team seemed outclassed, and coach k runs a system offense where it was pass pass pass shoot the 3, if you really played attention to the games austin only took shots outside of that system when it broke down or the shot clock was running down and only 11.8 shots attempted which is pretty good for a system offense and 2 shots more then his 2nd leading scorer and i bet 90% of those shooting gaurds that avg more points also took a lot more shots and there teams were not top 10 in scoring

PulseGlazerParticipantI’m not a fan. I just don’t think he fan finish at the rim effectively enough. His best case is probably becoming a free-throw magnet like Stuckey. If he’s developed that way, fine, but I don’t see a star besides.

HeelsGuy25ParticipantI am not a fan..for obvious reasons haha I just dont see why a team would use a top 10 pick on him. The word potential is used so loosely in the NBA, its sickening. He can score, true, but can he against bigger players?? I just see him being another JJ Redick.
