This website compared him to Dominique Jones and said about him "With Scoop Jardine and Kris Joseph graduating, Waiters will have the chance to maximize his value as a junior, with late lottery not an unrealistic goal/landing range". LMAO thats why I don’t take anything this site takes seriously. They are just…usually way off.

He is compared to Dominique Jones/Ben Gordon, but I guess you leave that part out. Ben may have been a tad smaller than Dion (and a much better shooter), but his wing span was longer and his standing reach a tad higher. His athleticism was probably comparable, if not better (Dion did not participate, so we do not have actual number comparisons).

Ben was also the 3rd pick in the draft, while Dominique Jones was 25th. I tend to take comparisons with a grain of salt. They are difficult to make and every player has their own distinct style. They are usually either made by frame (Dominique Jones had an incredibly similar frame) or by expectations (which, with Ben Gordon, is not too shabby). If you want to compare him to Dwyane Wade, that is fine, just really lofty. Otherwise, have not seen any alternatives from you.

The other thing is, check the date this was written. 1/17/2012. Things have changed since than. It probably should have been updated, but context should be taken into account. The funny thing is, Jonathan is actually a Syracuse grad/fan. I am sure he loves Dion Waiters. He just does not want to create insane expectations that will be difficult to live up to. So, if you are blaming it on a Syracuse bias, than you are barking up the wrong tree.

The site that shall remain nameless has a Rodney Stuckey/Smush Parker comparison, so go and take them seriously, lol. I disagree with comparisons as well sometimes, just know that they do not necessarily mean everything. The more important thing is the player breakdown, which I think is pretty solid. At the time, it looked like Dion might go back to school for another year. He didn’t. I guess that is something to be up in arms about.

Dominique Jones can’t even play in the league comparing him to him is just disrespectful. Ben Gordon is not by anny means a bad player he just isn’t remotely the same player. Saying his ceiling is late lottery IF he stays another year is just purely inaccurate. Sorry that they make money off being a mock site with analysis and I expect it to be remotely accurate? Lol. Draftexpress is 20 times worse don’t get me wrong.

I get it. 80% of this site thinks Waiters is overhyped due to their "vast" knowledge of basketball. Some on here like. Some a lot (MikeyV). Im a Syracuse fan I shouldn’t get negatives for talking about the prospects I care about lol its human nature I’m not gonna talk about people I could care less about. I just disagree with these mock drafts predicitions/comparisons of him everybody is so hesitant to give him and credence.

Dominique Jones is also on a playoff team who won the championship last season. It makes it tougher to get an accurate read on his ability

It is for the way you talk about the people that disagree with you. If you disrespect there opinion, keep it to yourself. By flat out saying "thats why I don’t take anything this site takes seriously" (since "takes" does not make sense I think most would replace it in their minds with "says"), it is hard to take you seriously. Especially when you offer no counter comparison, leave things out and get upset about something written in January.

Things change, I did not here you saying Dion was going to be a top 10 pick the entire year. If you did, I missed it. He still may not be a top 10 pick, who knows. Not everyone agrees on every prospect. The problem people seem to have with your posts is that you talk down to people and insult their intelligence rather than just providing evidence to support your opinion. Simple as that.

People would be very happy to hear that you feel Dion Waiters is underrated if you gave more reasons why and less reasons why people are stupid for thinking differently. I have never said anything about a "vast knowledge of basketball". You use my bringing up statistics and my opinion as trying to insult your intelligence, which is your prerogative, just not my intent. When you tend to post, it is not so much out of love for Syracuse as for disrespect of anything slightly opposed to Syracuse. Negativity tends to lead to negatives. Getting angry at people and insulting their intelligence is a poor cover for fandom.

     Exactly ^

There are plenty of Syracuse fan sites that will tell you exactly what you want to hear and there will be no dissenting opinions.  You won’t have to deal with "idiots" like us who "disrespect" your favorite player by comparing him to a 1st round pick.

You’d think Dion Waiters already has a NBA seasons under his belt in which he’s had great success.  I don’t understand the sentiment in which everyone is wrong and he already succeeded because he’s now projected in the lottery.

I don’t seek out things, with my free time, that I hate.  I can’t imagine what keeps bringing you back talking to strangers that you don’t respect and will not even entertain an opinion that doesn’t 100% allign with yours.

Just like you don’t take this site seriously, we never take you seriously. I can’t even recall a post you’ve made where I actually agreed. Your posts are erratic and typically bias, you also have a high tendency to bash people. Please do us(and yourself) a favor and use a different website.

Cynthia please do us a favor and comment on a topic you might know something about. It is truely not my fault that I don’t agree with the mob mentality this website has. Joe Wolf your a grumpy man with no life. You get mad at me for pointing out down right horrible comparisons from a website that gets paid to make them? LOL. There is a group of posters that like each other and they s*ck each other off no matter what they say. There is a group of posters that people don’t like and they gand up on them no matter what they say. I know more about bball and follow bball and other sports more for that matter than minimum 90% of the people on here. The things I read are down right ridiculous. People don’t ever even give credit where due they just bash. Joe Wolf don’t like me because I called him out for being inaccurate and not having his own opinion. When this is the main part of your life I understand how you would get upset, but it is a true fact.

As a whole, this site is pretty anti syracuse (the posters). The whole season I had to listen to just ignorant bullsh*t, and nobody on this site gives Waiters any credit. Not the administrators not the posters. Even after all the evidence to the contrary they still only begrudgingly barely give any credit. No amount of evidence or scouts opinions or highlights or proving them wrong changes peoples minds. I am 100% I am the most intelligent person on this forum IQ wise, and it is not even close. The things people say about me are hysterical and if they knew my background they would STFU. Now, like I said, Dominique Jones and Ben Gordon are both horrible comparisons for Dion Waiters.

I will list all the obvious better comparisons in the NBA: Monta Ellis, Dwayne Wade, Avery Bradley, Tyreke Evans, Demar Derozan, Aaron Afflalo, Shannon Brown, Randy Foye. Christ not my fault these people suck at their job get a clue.

I remember watching Waiters playing against Uconn, Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright were pressing him, he

got the ball taken a way from him a couple times and they kept getting a hand on the ball as he dribbled.  Waiters got

a lot of his points on fast breaks and driving to the basket.  Can he play defense at the NBA level because he stayed

in foul trouble (team played zone)

You’re probably missing a few decimal points, but regardless I’m quite confident that I’m not in this group (if anyone is at all).

" I am 100% I am the most intelligent person on this forum IQ wise".

First learn to write a correct sentence. Then I think that there are a lot of us that are more intelligent than you are regarding all the sh*t that you’re saying, and this makes me remember of 13kavak.  As the others pointed out, if you don’t like what is being said and feel like you’re wasting your time with "morons", then why on earth are you still on this site??

Just a quick question:  don’t you feel that being a Syracuse fan you’re a tad bit biased?

I write what I believe, have little care as to the popularity of my opinion. There are people that like this, there are people that definitely do not. I am probably as much of a Duck fan as you are a Syracuse fan. I mean, Taylor Condrin’s UW avatar thing makes me slightly nauseous. I can still talk about Washington prospects without having to say how much better I find other prospects. It would make little sense not to, if my goal was to have a participatory debate or discussion.

Writing that, I can see that is not your goal. This site may have issues, there are definitely some popular opinions and some not so popular opinions that can get negative feedback. One thing I tend to find is, the people that get angry at people for negging them never really reflect on WHY they are being negged. They think it is someone elses problem besides their own.

There are trolls here that neg pretty much anything and everything. There may be people that look at your point total maybe more than content. But, what content do you have to brag about? The most research I have seen you do is quote someone else and say they are smarter than everyone. I have no idea how intelligent you may be, but when a person resorts to insults rather than actual facts, that person does not seem worth debating.

My ultimate goal is that you will "get it" and see that while posters here may not be completely guilt free, neither are you. Your posts and topics could use vast improvement and I feel that many have tried to give you constructive feedback. Here it is:

    • Stop complaining about a Syracuse bias. Even if you really believe it exists, complaining about it does not help.
    • Stop insulting peoples intelligence. It just reflects poorly on yourself.
    • If you dislike a comparison or someones opinion, give a concrete reason why. Providing data and links might be useful as well. Alternative comparisons would also strengthen your argument.
    • Realize that no one is trying to stop you from being a fan. They are just tired of you using this as a reason you are being attacked.

Differing opinions make this board what it is. They are welcome. Not everyone may like them, but if they are backed up with sufficient evidence, than you did all you can do. I wrote a lot about Dion Waiters in NCAA Daily, really liked how he played this year. If you would tell us the reasons why you feel Dion is underrated rather than telling people they are stupid, they would be willing to listen. Nothing you have said has offended me, though I would appreciate you not bad mouthing other posters. Just realize that I am trying to get you to realize methods of being better received and making the most of this forum as a way to promote what you are trying to get across.
