Many agree that the Jazz need to unload one of their bigs (Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap).  What is the trade value in terms of draft picks in this draft of Paul Millsap or Al Jefferson?  Jefferson put up 19/9 last year and is paid $14M.  Paul put up 16/8, was fourth in the league in steals and is paid $8M.  Would they fetch a top 10 pick in this draft?  If so (or not), what is their value?  Between the two, who is worth more?

Both have their own weaknesses al is an undersized slow footed center, while Paul millsap is also undersized but makes up for it with his intensity. If Utah wants a lottery pick millsap will have to go, the only teams I see that will think of trading their pick for him is Detroit,Houston(seems like they acquire a power forward every year), and Philly

I think that most teams in the lottery would trade for jefferson or millsap.. especially if they could offload some bad contracts at the same time(remember they are both paid a lot so there is going to have to be some contracts coming back to Utah)… I would think that Detroit would jump at the opportunity to do that and get rid of gordon or villanueva… They want a center who can clog the paint and think that monroe is going to be even better as a 4 so adding a player of jefferson’s skill could make them contenders for the 7-8 seed in the east. However, I think that Utah likes where they are at right now and the luxury that having so many big men affords them, so I think its one more year before the fire sale… remember enes kanter has not proven himself yet.

Most teams won’t trade for Jefferson because of his contract (14million) and the fact that his defense isn’t that great. If his contract was lower, say 10m, I think his value would be much higher

Millsap has higher value due to his contract, plus I think Millsap fits in offenses a lot smoother than jefferson does

When the Jazz didn’t get that GS pick, I (a Jazz fan) wasn’t really upset, the reason being, we have so many young guys (Favors, Kanter, Burks) who still aren’t getting enough playing time, and I thought another young player would only dilute the growth of these guys rather than serve as a "missing piece." Now, however, seeing how impressive a prospect Damian Lillard really is, and the fact that he went to school in Utah, and the fact that Utah’s one missing piece is probably a franchise PG, I’m really missing that GS pick and wondering if there isn’t a way we could get him…

It probably can’t happen, but does anyone have any ideas? The Blazers were very, very interested in Millsap (three years ago when they signed him to that front-loaded offer). They are looking for a PG in this draft and are open to moving either of their picks; could these teams make a deal? Millsap’s combination of athleticism and aggressiveness would make him a fine fit next to LaMarcus Aldridge, who, though he’s never played C, is 6-11 and very mobile and athletic so let’s be real, he could play the position with the right talent around him.

If I was Utah I would offer Millsap and GS’s 2013 pick (top-6 protected, so it will probably fall right in the middle of the lottery) for Portland’s #6 pick.

The Jazz get Lillard and go with Lillard-Burks-Hayward-Favors-Kanter for the future, with Big Al and his big $15M expiring for one more year.

The Blazers nab a PF who finished 14th in PER last year and has arguably the most cap-friendly contract in the league. Then, at 11, they can take Kendall Marshall, who some would argue is not a downgrade at all from Lillard if he lands in the right spot, and Portland, with wings and big men who like the score the ball and some who need a little nudge (BATUM), he could be a great fit. Millsap/Marshall would be a better haul, I would argue, than Lillard/Terrence Ross, let’s say, and the Blazers would still have a ton of money to spend in FA as Millsap is only owed around $7.2M next year.

We trade Millsap, our 2012 2nd rounder and our 2013 1st rounder to Detroit for their first round pick at #9 and one of their contracts (maybe Tayshaun Prince since we need depth at the 3). Then we take either Marshall or Lillard at #9. Being a UNC fan, I’d prefer Marshall, also I don’t get the hype surrounding Lillard. Marshall is more of a pure PG he could distribute the ball to our new core of Favors, Kanter, Burks & Hayward. Maybe we add Big Al to the deal but he wouldn’t get much PT on the Pistons with Monroe starting at center. Just an idea…

Millsap for Prince works financially according to NBA Trade Machine, just add the picks…

If this happens we could try to trade Devin Harris on draft night also.

what about Al Jefferson to Boston for the # 21 and # 22 picks, Boston well under the salary cap so it’s work financially and they need a strengthening to the frontcourt, the Jazz can use the picks to move up and snatch Kendall Marshall!

sammybuckeye13 i love your trade idea! i think favors is ready to take over at pf and millsap is just too good to be a bench player so let him find a new home with portland . i think your idea would be perfect for both teams. i as a jazz fan just hope we can get lillard

take Lewis and the #3 contract and send Al+Millsap+Burks… tank tank and keep tanking next year

    Kanter

    Favors

    Hayward/ Kidd*

    Beal*

    Harris 🙁

I would try to get another pick 2 go 4 marshall but the only other assets they have is their next year raft pick and golden state draft pick wich they could use in the Lewis trade
