With all the big names sliding up the boards at the 2 spot the one name that has not been on the radar in quite sometime it’s been Jeremy Lamb. I think he falls out of the lottery because the prospect rankings look like this to me at the 2 spot in terms of how they are drafted.

    1. Bradley Beal/Wizards
    2. Austin Rivers/Raptors
    3. Terrance Ross/Trail Blazers
    4. Dion Waiters/Suns
    5. Jeremy Lamb/T’Wolves

I know it may be a bit strange but if you see above I have the 5 listed how they fall in my mock

Does anyone else think Lamb stock has really taking a hit over the course of the production of the prospects listed above?

It’s really hard to say mostly because of the Warriors and the Trailblazers. They could each go in multiple directions which can alter where Lamb would end up. It also depends on the GM’s and who they have their mind set on. The Raptors for example where you have Austin Rivers listed might want a catch and shoot guy rather than someone who can create for himself. If they do that, they could go with Lamb rather than Rivers.

I can see Lamb falling to the Rockets at either 14 or 16, or maybe even the T-Wolves at 18. He injured his ankle and his stock appears to be slipping.

I have Lamb going to New Orleans at #10. As I said earlier today, Lamb averaged 17.7 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 1.8 APG in the Big East. Think over the past few years of how many Big East players have been capable of that level of play. The answer is not many. Jeremy Lamb has what it takes on the court, but he may slip a little more than expected.

Lamb going to NOH depends on if they think they can resign Gordon or not. In a situation where they trade Gordon for Granger, NOH would have Lamb, Granger, and Davis filling the SG, SF, and PF spots. That sounds really good to me at least.

Lamb also could go between 14-18. If he’s available by the time the T’wolves are on the board then I have to doubt some scouts. His offensive game will definitely translate to the NBA.

I have New Orleans taking Lillard which helps make a case for him to fall in my mock.

I’m not convinced he’ll slip that much.  Keep in mind he injured himself working out for the Raptors, who own the 8th pick.  He also already completed a workout with the Hornets who have the 10th pick. The workout he cancelled was with the Blazers who have the 11th pick.

The injury is said not to be serious, while it’s certainly not opportune, he could have had a great workout for the Hornets already in the books.

Doubt he falls to Minnesota – everyone from 13 to 17 would have to be looking at him pretty hard – but that would be a heck of a landing spot for him if he did.  I think he’s going to be a solid player, but may be a little slow to develop as he adjusts.

Lamb is the best shooting guard in this draft and if he falls out of the lottery I think those teams will regret it in the long run.  No shooting guard in this draft have the complete offensive game that Lamb has.

The Pros: Can create his own shot, can get to the rim off the dribble, outstanding floater, great midrange game, move without the ball, can read/come of screens, he can shoot from long distance, he is athletic and has a crazy wing span. He has all the tools to be a great defensive player

The Cons: His motor, Leadership and strength

Everyone is judging based on this season when he played with a ball hogging point guard in Napier.  Lamb started to take bad shots when the coaching staff and media told him he was to passive and need to force some shots.  In the NBA he will have more space to operate because Uconn didn’t have a lot of shooting around him.

Lamb is a great player and could well be the second or best player from this draft.  I can’t see him falling anywhere outside of the top 10.  From a biased point of view i would love to see him in a pistons uniform

Knight and Lamb starters with Stuckey off the bench would be a very strong backcourt for years to come

I think the SGs in this class are pretty close. Lamb could be the best of the top 5 or possibly the worst. Beal is rated as the best right now but I wouldn’t say he is that far ahead of Lamb. You could make arguments for Waiters, Rivers and Ross being the best but I really do not think there is that much seperation between them all.
