seattleslimParticipantdamian lillard avoiding working out with/against tony wroten? not sure if it’s true but its not the first time this has happened, just last year every PG in the draft ran from Isaiah Thomas! and with good reason as you saw what he did last year! i think the only PG that ate I.T.’s lunch during the season was Chris Paul. i know its mostly the agents call but as a competitor what would you do? what kinda heart do you got? me personally i cant see jordan or kobe ducking cats before the draft.

HaleParticipantI can see why he would avoid Wroten. Wroten is huge and ultra athletic and in a workout setting Wroten would shine on just about anyone. I, however, am far too competitive to turn down a challenge and I’d take him on.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantLillard has nothing to gain in this situation, he’s already considered the top PG and a surefire top 10 selection after his season and the combine, if he beats Wroten then nobody will be anymore impressed than they are now. However if he loses to Wroten then his stock will take a hit. Obviously Wroten’s advisors would love to see him matchup against Lillard it would be a situation he could not possibly lose in.
There’s something to be said about being competitive but also something to be said about making poor decisions.

theONEweALLknowParticipantlike Y2G sayed wroten will shine on any pg in a 1 on 1 setting he is 6’6 athletic and can drive by anyone and there wont be anyone at the paint to help but with the one knock on lilliard being he hasnt shown what he could do against better competition if i was him i would want to show i can take on any pg even someone with the height and ability of wroten so if im him i take wroten on or any other player of that matter just to prove to everyone im clearly the best! thats just my nature though

bloodshyParticipantNo one ever wants to work out against someone lower on the board. Last year Kemba cancelled a workout to avoid going against Jimmer. Why risk having a bad day and being suplanted someone below you on the board? There’s nothing to gain (doing well matches expectations, while doing poorly costs you millions). Lillard should avoid going against anyone except possibly Marshall. IMO at this point, he shouldn’t duel it out w/anyone.

100% agree. Nothing for Lillard to gain from this since he’s considered the top point in the draft.

frogmanParticipantDoing anything that could potentially hurt your draft stock is stupid and can cost you a lot of money. These players are not entering the draft to see who can beat who in a one on one.

NbanflguyParticipantI would take him on. I would not want a player on my team who I already know backs down from challenges.

seattleslimParticipantif im the top guy im going at whoever just to make a point! thats just me, but if im lower ranked and nobody want’s the challenge then i’m licking my chops waiting for the season to start!! because once that ball is in the air there is nowhere to run….

TyroberParticipantOnly bad things could happen. If he dominates then hardly anyone would be surprised but if he gets his ass handed to him? Could really hurt his stock.

raybeasParticipantin HORSE. That has as much to do with the NBA as a 1-on-1 matchup does.
The NBA is played 5-on-5, and a point guards job is to make good descisions, find the open man, and hit open shots. You can’t do any of those things 1-on-1.
