mookieParticipantTell me micheal wilbon isn’t the biggest a$$-kisser alive! How he bends over for magic, and just listening to him ask stern about the lottery set up. I don’t like Rome but at least he don’t try to sugar coat a question like wilbon

TRC1991Participantwilbon would suck the AIDS out of magic if he could

llperezstern mentioned during the interview at halftime with wilbom in regards to the lotto fixing of the 1985 draft that espn the mag did a article about it disproving the theories behind it. But I wanted to point out that it was actually a very good article discussing 25 of sports histories most controversial debates and espn "settles" them. The part of the article that stunned the most for me as a raider fan was that damn tuck rule that would have sent the raiders to the superbowl instead of new england and espn confirmed it was a bad ruling against the raiders.

ChewyParticipantLook everyone knows that Magic knows basketball. However, he isn’t very good at talking about basketball. He rambles and repeats himself alot! Magic makes a good point and then repeats himself 3 more times. Wilbon is perfect at cutting Magic off at the right moment so that Magic can make good points and not talk for 2 minutes straight.

McDunkinWilbon knows Disney is signing those checks…and he wants to keep it that way

llperezits tough listening to magic talk ball. He says the most basic stuff but says it really slow and uses hand gestures to emphasize his point as if he explaining rocket science.

HaleParticipantThe tuck rule is probably the worst call in the history of sports. Really fucked up years of the NFL imo.

mookieParticipantHe’s like the Big Show…a sellout! what’s the point of being a journalist if you’re gonna whimp out on asking tough questions? Jim Rome asked a straight up question and he still getting paid. Skip bayless gets paid for hatin Lebron. But wilbon…good god…he is just another uncle tom

ChewyParticipanthave no credibility. This is how their shows work every time.
Step 1: Pick a really good or really popular player
Step 2: If he is good- bash him. If he is liked- bash him
Step 3: Play devil’s advocate and try to piss off as many people as possible.
Step 4: Repeat.
Wilbon is great on PTI, but remember what jhbm24 already said in this post… it’s ABC not ESPN.

NYK2010ParticipantTuck Rule screwed the Raiders but its the rule.
It happens.
Magic Johnson I agree with that he just brings an audience I guess.

llperez@nyk2010, The rule states that when bringing the football down in a forward motion on the way to tuck it and you lose it, then it would be considered a incomplete pass. However espn broke down the frame by frame of it and brady made contact with his off hand before the contact from woodson making it a completed tuck thus it should have been ruled a fumble.

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participantllperez
If ESPN had to play it by frame-by-frame to get an exact result, how difficult do you think it was for referees who saw it with the naked eye and at full speed?

llperezi agree its hard to call live. One of the problems is though that live they called it a fumble and ruled it raiders ball. They then reviewed it with the rule being conclusive effidnve needed to overturn the ruling on the field and apparently they felt that the replay conclusively showed it was not a fumble which is the biggest issue i take with it since, as you said, it was so close.
