rhamnlacsonParticipanti think drummond should be in detroit i think the monroe and drummond connection would be a good one if he falls down to this spot

rhamnlacsonParticipanti know dude but its the ideal situation for drummond if and only if he falls in to this position in the draft but like you i doubt that this is gonna happen

SwatLakeCityParticipantUnfortunately the draft is not based on ideal situations. Teams draft according to who’s available and then to thier needs. Drummond is not likely to be available at 9. He is a top 5 pick for sure.

Zeke313Participant@llperez I understand your point but that isn’t nearly the same situation.

collins03ParticipantDrummond would not fit with Monroe for a number of reasons. The first, and most important, is that Drummond has no offensive game. I go to UCONN and had season tickets and every single time Andre got the ball on the block he either passed it right back out, or threw up a turn around jumper that airballed nearly every time. He also doesn’t have interior passing skills that would allow the pistons to play him and Monroe at the same time. Don’t draft Drummond.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantMore realistic would be Leonard.

sheltwon3ParticipantUnless you think Detroit is going to be able to give someone up to get an early pick which is possibly considering Charlotte has the number 2 pick. If Detroit can move say Gordon, the 9 pick and a future 1st with protection for the 2nd pick than I can understand.
Gordon is expendable and his contract is expensive but only has 2 years on the books. Bobcats would be wise to take his contract for 2 years to get an extra 1st round pick and also have a lotto selection this year. Drummond being picked second should shake enough things that there will be a quality player that could have top 3 potential at 9.
I doubt Charlotte does this move though.
Detroit has enough young players that sacrificing 2 first rounders should not hurt them and giving up Gordon helps them.

llperezMy appologies , I misread the title as “Andre Drummond “IS” a piston”. And then the ts just stated that it would make sense for Detroit so I responded with the smart Alec response.
