gopack10ParticipantThis might seem farfetched to some but we all know that the Hawks aren’t going anywhere with their current group and are in need of a roster shakeup.
The Suns have long been after Josh Smith and this summer seems like the best time to move him along with his expiring contract.
Hawks get:
13th Pick
Robin Lopez (sign and trade)
Suns get:
Josh Smith
43rd Pick
Any takers?

morestealsthanscoresParticipantjosh smith, borderline all-star, for #13? no.
I’ll be nice and negotiate:
13th Pick
Jared Dudley
for
Marvin Williams
23rd Pick
Deal?

TyroberParticipantWhat a horrible idea. Hawks trade Smith for a backup center and the #13 pick? No way. Smith put up crazy numbers the 2nd half of the season.

JustaFanParticipantPick 13 isn’t high enough and Phoenix has nothing worth a Josh Smith… nothing! And you want the 23rd pick? No way.

gopack10ParticipantJosh put up crazy numbers because he had to. Al Horford will be back full-time next year and so Josh will loose those touches. The Hawks would draft a Center (Meyers Leonard) at #13 and finally Horford can move to his natural PF position. The Hawks now have a deep bench when it comes to bigs with Pachulia and they can take a guy like Wroten, Harkless, Taylor just to name a few with the #23 pick. It makes a ton of sense for the Hawks since they are probably going to lose Josh after next year anyway.
Marvin and the 23rd Pick isn’t worth Dudley and the 13th.

JustaFanParticipantI couldn’t see Atlanta trading Josh for a pick so low at first but looking athow it allows them move Horford to the 4 I could actually see it to some degree… I’m on the fence Gopack10… because if you move him and the Center you take turns into Olowakandi Oden then you just gave up a great complementary player for nothing and I know there’s a flip side to this also, they could get the Center they’ve always needed. But I do agree they need to make some moves they’ve been stuck in neutral to long.
