providencefriars1ParticipantLooking for some advice regarding my mock. Check it out on the side, note my last 5 omissions were Scott, Acy, Ratcliffe, Denmon, and DJO in that order.

Seamo15ParticipantThe second pick this year is the hardest to gauge, so I’ve got no problem with you picking MKG. Robinson at 3 makes sense, both him and MKG are interchangeable between the 2nd and 3rd . Beal serves as a good compliment to Irving, I think another effective scorer makes more sense than Drummond, who a lot of people have. Barnes to Sacramento would mean the kings would need to clear up to room there as they have a wealth of guys at that position. That would be a good opportunity for the. To get a proper team restructure and Barnes is a good guy to be a catalysts for that. Drummond at 6 is as obvious as it is terrifying for Portland fans. No one wants Oden 2.0, but he’s too tempting to pass up.
Jones at 7 really interest me. This in my opinion is the highest he could get drafted. The Warriors worry me for Jones though based on what happened with A.Randolph. That being said, I think Jones is the best prospect to pick here.Lamb to Toronto means that they won’t be drafting another big man, which is both good and bad. Good based on their lack of success with bigs and bad for the same reason.Lamb would be decent he fills a role most teams could use, being a scorer to inject energy.Pushing Sullinger up is smart. He and Monroe both play a similar game, which I think would compliment each other. Defensively he could be a bit of a burden but Monroe has a good enough help defense to solve that.Kendall to Hornets gives you the best available, but it makes Jarret Jack, who had a decent year redundant . Jack doesn’t play well when he isn’t happy and knowing that you’re going to be replaced eventually by a rookie could get disheartening.Lillard to Portland helps their struggles at the point. After this I don’t have to much other to say.Draymond Green slides maybe a bit much, Jae Crowder might need to drop, he’ll end up measuring up short and will slide as a result.0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/04/2012 - 4:06pm #677175
CoolidgerParticipantJae Crowder and Miles Plumlee are both a little high..
I don’t think John Henson will fall all the way to 23. Too much potential to pass up.
Other then that, nothing really jumps out at me. Pretty good mock. As of now, I could see Drummond falling to 6, but if he does well in the workouts (and I have a feeling he will), he will likely jump a spot or two (or three)

GrandmamaParticipantI doubt Drummond falls to 6.
Marshall is too high at 10.
Henson is way too low at 23, no way he falls that far.
I highly doubt Beal is selected before Barnes.

ilmagoParticipantIMO, Beal at 4 makes a whole lot of sense as the Cavs might want to build a nice 1-2 core with Irving and Beal. Plus they have Casspi at the 3 and they seem to like him.
I can’t really see happening is Terrence Jones to Houston, not because he’s not worth it, but just because they have got Morris and Patterson in the last two drafts. It seems to me that they would be taking kind of the same player once again.
Also, Henson at 23 is too low, above all with the Celtics picking at 21 and 22, but I doubt he goes past Orlando

benny15Participant1 and 6 i agree with completely, in between that, i feel that its completely acceptable to go with who you choose since there are several options to go with. GSW going with Jones is okay i suppose, but id much rather they take Sullinger who can contribute right away since this warriors team isnt built to be a 3 or 4 year project, but would want to challenge a play-off spot next season. getting a NBA ready rookie to bolster their front line could go a long way. i agree with the toronto selection and im thinking Detroit would go with Henson, Zeller or Jones. i see the hornets choosing Lilard over Marshall since they already have a decent back-up point guard whose decent in distributing the ball in Vazquez, he’s the kind of player who can compliment Lilard well since he can shoot from the outside and guard opposing two guards while being on the same court as Damian. Portland i think will go with a point guard(like you), or a combo guard(Waiters or Rivers). think if Marshall is avaialable they will go with him since they already have scoring point guards they’ve taken in the past few drafts.
Agree with the milwaukee and phoenix selections, and i see your point with houston’s picks, but i really think they will use one of it on Leonard(project center) and the other on a combo guard(Waiters or Wroten). they already have 2 small forwards on their depth chart in their rotation in Budinger and Parsons as well as 2 power forwards in Scola and Patterson. with the rockets most likely going with either Lowrey or Dragic and not both, and no guarantee that Lee would be comming back, they can address take back-court help in the draft, Waiters having the higher chance due to the fact he’s more NBA ready.

Andrew1984ParticipantDavis and MKG No. 1 and No. 2. With the third, I think Washington will take Drummond because they’re high on Jan and Nene is there to teach him how to be a professional and they’re happy with Wall and Crawford in the backcourt.
As a Clevelander, I follow the Cavaliers closely and I believe Chris Grant and Byron Scott are debating between Beal and Barnes. They’ve loved Barnes for two years now. Personally, I think I slightly prefer Beal to Barnes, but I think the Cavs’ brass is higher on Barnes. They don’t want to overpay Alonzo Gee and I think Phoenix or someone else will offer him too much. I think they think 3s that can score are rarer commodity than 2s. So I think they’ll take Barnes.
At No. 5, I’m penciling in Thomas Robinson to Sacramento. He’ll bring tenacity, toughness, physicality, depth, etc.
That would leave Beal for Portland at No. 6. Portland’s priorities right now are getting Aldridge healthy and retaining RFA Nic Batum, who has said he’ll sign the highest offer sheet that comes his way. They love Wes Matthews, but Jamal Crawford is going to opt out so help on the wing will be welcomed.
I feel pretty confident with that as the top six right now. Golden State is always hard to predict and I truly have no clue what they’ll do at No. 7 so I’m not even going to go there yet.

Andrew1984Participant@ilmago,
I can tell you that the Cavaliers are not happy with Omri Casspi. He may not make the roster next year.

JoeWolf1I think in a draft devoid of much true point guard talent, a guy like Scott Machado will be in more demand than he would be in a deeper PG draft. I think 43 is pretty low for him. I think he has the potential to sneak into the first round and I think his floor is about #35, especially since he turned out to be at least an average athlete, as he was specualted during the season to be below average.

JrbenzCuse23you don’t even have KrisJo being drafted? Celtics would be best fit for Waiters out of any team in the whole league
