KHAM83ParticipantIf the Heat fails to win a ‘ship this year, esp fail to get past Boston, do you think they and the Lakers should consider swapping Bosh and Gasol? Gasol is more of a post player, which is what the Heat need.Bosh,a few years younger and I think meshes well with Kobe and Bynum. Lookslike the Lakers and Gasol are ready to part ways. Lakers gets a little younger, Heat brings in a champion and someone who can be a force inside offensively and defensively.
Heat gets Gasol, cash and/or 2nd rounder

BruinSteveParticipantI don’t think this will happen but I don’t mind the trade. Gasol and Bynum have a hard time meshing since they are both post players which forces gasol to stay on the perimeter and shoot jumpshots. Bosh’s expertiece is midrange jumpshots so now Bynum can be free to man the paint 24/7 and Bosh could be the kickout. Gasol would supply the post presence the Heat desperately need, and he would be put back in a comfortable situation
Again, I doubt it would happen but it does intrigue me.

SportsNinjaParticipantLA would LOVE this trade. Bosh is better and younger than Gasol.
I’m not saying Bosh is Mr Clutch, but no star in the NBA wilts at the end of a game like Gasol. I have seen him miss a ton of free throws and lay ups in the final minute of close games. I can already picture the Heat down by 2 and LBJ panicking and passing to Gasol for the final shot.
I hear there are Gasol for Pierce rumors though: http://www.examiner.com/article/lakers-rumors-pau-gasol-to-be-traded-for-paul-pierce

Oh hell no. Trust me, I’m open to trading pau. But for bosh? Give pau all the criticism u want, bosh isn’t better at anything compared to pau. We need a cp3 or a Dwight, not taking a step backwards.

TyroberParticipantI’v thrown this out there before. Really helps both teams on paper, but do Lakers want to tie up that money to Bosh? Seems like they may want to move Gasol to fill multiple positions instead of getting that 3rd star back. Obviously CP3 was different, but unless you getting him then it might be better to fill multiple needs

bloodshyParticipantNo one can fall like a huge slow-footed white guy. As for their play, I don’t know who I’d prefer (Bosh/Gasol).
Hmmm… how do I make this thing embed? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzxFJa6rfsg&feature=related

sheltwon3ParticipantI have thought about this and Bosh is not better than Gasol but he would be a better fit than Gasol. Gasol is anti clutch and is not aggressive enough to play with Kobe. Bosh is not clutch or anti clutch but he is aggressive enough. I think they would improve as a team but miss Gasol’s passing but that would just allow Sessions to control more of the offense.

sheltwon3ParticipantAlso it will never happen but I have thought about it and I can’t wait until Gasol is gone.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantbosh isnt better at anythign than gasol and the lakers severly need an upgrade at pg and an athletich wing im still hoping the lakers can get iggy and pieces from the sixers for gasol

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantConsidering that the Sixers already have huge money invested on their PF in Elton Brand and that their frontcourt is decent, I’m not sure that they’d give much more than Iggy for Gasol.
A possible trade destination that I can think of is Houston: Scola + Pick 14 or 16 for Gasol + maybe a future 1st or 2nd round pick. The Rockets have shown interest and Gasol and would get an upgrade over Scola which would make them a legit playoff team. The Lakers would get a decent replacement for Gasol and a good pick that could make them fill their needs at PG (Kendall Marshall if he’s still there) or at SF (Moe Harkless, Terrence Jones, Royce White…).

Ahkasi ClayParticipantok it is two post players, both soft, both don’t seem to want to be the the main option on their team, but one is young, he other is geting ready to retire, uhm? not hard to figure who gets the most of this trade!

Sewok15ParticipantIn the short term this would benefit both teams as Miami needs a low post scorer and LA already has one in Bynum. This deal would not get done for several reasons one of which being age…the other if Miami makes a trade I think they know they must get a few better role players instead of one more big name guy to truly be an elite team.
