Michael Finley, Harrison Barnes play exactly like Michael Finley. Great shooter/scorer, good athlete, not great athlete, was a great team player, good character, and he could fit into team play. Not Glen Rice, not Luol Deng but Michael Finley..

That is pretty much as right on as it gets aside from the fact that Barnes is a SF and Finley was primarily a SG. In this day in age there is not much difference in the two positions anyway.

Solid comparison. Barnes plays more like a SG than a SF anyway. I think he could play some SF and SG down the line, if he works on his handles. I’m also pretty sure Finely played both positions.

^^^How can you be a Michael Finley/Wilson Chandler? One plays like a off-ball scoring guard while the other plays like a modern day faceup combo forward.

Yeah Finley and Chandlers games are significantly different…not sure if you meant a combo of both players or that they are similar players?

Finley is a great comparison and probably the best if there is one.  I always compared him to Ron Mercer though.   Mercer had much better handle and more athletic.  Barnes bigger, longer, and stronger though.

You guys don’t see Danny Granger in Barnes??? Same physical dimensions, smooth, deceptively athletic, equally deadly on their jumpshots.

Granger is more a small forward and Barnes is a swingman.  He could be a guard or forward.  His handles is the only thing that makes him questionable as a 2 guard.  Micheal Finley is not a bad comparions but Barnes has more dimension to his offense and Finley was more athletic.

Finley was an athlete first, shooter 2nd. You’ll never see Barnes in a dunk contest. I see Steve Smith, capable scorer, good shooter but a disappointing rebounder/defender despite his height.

Steve Smtih later in his career maybe, but i’m guessing people are forgetting Steve Smith actually started at point guard for the Miami Heat a good bit, he played 3 positions there. Harrison Barnes is no where near the ball handler or passer. The size is similar, I don’t think Harrison’s shot is quite as good but, I guess size and shot are the only similarities..

Hmmm… I still like the Deng comparison the best.  I think that is pretty accurate.

I don’t see the Glen Rice thing at all.  Bad comparison.

I see him somewhere in between Marvin Williams and Sean Elliot…..

I just can’t see him being the 20+ppg all-star that alot of ppl are suggesting…

I can’t believe this comparison has gained so much traction. Finely was an EXPLOSIVE and AGGRESSIVE player coming out of college, who reminded me very very little of Harrison Barnes. This was a guy who was a premeir in game dunker during his early years in the league. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXixmaZDSPA
