If I’m the Bobcats, I’ll either draft MKG 2nd overall and trade his draft rights to the Grizzles for Rudy Gay or I would draft Drummond 2nd and trade him to Portland, for LaMarcus Aldridge

No possible way Blazers trade Aldridge for Drummond. 0% chance. One of the absolute worst ideas I have ever heard.

Aldridge is on a rebuilding team that is only looking to get younger, he’s going to get frustrated evidently…Bobcats would of course would have to throw in more pieces…How about the 2nd pick to the Rockets for Kevin Martin, then the Rockets draft Drummond and package Lowry, for Aldridge

You can get Drummond at 6 very possibly and have Drummond and Aldridge along with still having the 11th pick.  Blazer front office would need their heads examined if they made the trade you proposed.

My point is you could possibly get him at 6 and none of the guys that will go 2-6 are a sure thing.  Picking at 6th is no pressure and just take whoever is left out of Barnes , Gilchrist , Beal , Drummond , and Robinson.  Honestly I think Robinson falls to 6 to Portland and Portland takes either Lillard or Marshall at 11.  No need to trade the pick when you are going to get a good player no matter what at 6 and kepp your 11th pick to help fill a need with another quality player.

One idea that occured to me was some deal between Portland and Cleveland for 6th and 11th for 4th and 24th if Portland wanted to move up the draft and Cleveland could get an SG/SF and a big with the two Portland picks.

Also with Washington sat at 3, Portland or Cleveland could make an offer for that pick if the player they covet was likely to be drafted there.

MKG will also be in the two to six mix if we assume that Davis goes first so teams in that range will have a lot of workouts to look at. I cnnot see how any players in that mix could refuse workouts unless the Bobcats for example made lets say Barnes a promise.

I think it’s fair to say that after AD there’s a huge drop off in terms of who #2 should be.  That and the fact that the Bobcats have barely any talent AND Jordan’s draft history is pretty bad, I think the safest thing to do is trade down.  If they don’t trade and end up passing up on a star what does that say about Jordan.  They might get a solid started and move down a couple picks or just get another 1st rounder in this draft or next year.  The media and fans would be anti-Jordan if they draft say Drummond and he’s a bust but Gilcrist is a stud or vice versa

The Bobcats trade down options would most likely be Cleveland and Portland if you are looking at it being picks based. I don’t know what other teams would offer talentwise as there is then the issue of star players wanting to remain in Charlotte or contending teams giving up major assets.
