6? IDK if he’s that good, Mid Major guard who lit it up against weaker opponents, sound familiar? Jimmer Freddette.

Now he is more athletic than Jimmer, but IDK if he’s worth the #6 pick, #6 pick is high high expectations to me, regardless of how weak the draft is.

I know it’s early but I’d be incredibly surprised if the T’blazers took him at 6.  They should trade down a few sports if they are really planning on taking him. Thoughts?

Are you saying the draft is weak? Its not. Its incredibly deep with many potential stars

And I still wouldn’t be suprised if Marquis Teague’s stock shoots up after the combine in June, I don’t think any PG in this draft has more upside than Teague.

I watched some highlights of him today for the first time and while I know it was a lot of his best work, jesus the dude can ball. He is incredibly quick, has a beautiful stroke with a great elevation and a high release point and he was the second most efficient player in the country after Davis last year. He looks like he can be a super electric point guard and apparently he’s a better passer than 4.5 assists (still not bad for 40-minute game with 35-second shot). Beal is def the better prospect, he’s a franchise 2, but Lillard at 6 isn’t ridiculous I don’t think.

I’m not sold on Beal either. I will admit I didn’t see much of him in college but the highlights I did see he didn’t impress me. If there is one player I would take a risk on in the lottery it would be Tony Wroten. I think he is going to be the next Penny Hardaway minus the injuries. Dude is nice and Portland needs a point guard. I don’t see Felton back. People have him going late first round but if I’m not mistaken, Tyreke Evans at one point was late first round on this site in 09 and jumped up to top 5 with the draft winding near. Wroten is compared to him. I like Wrotens work ethic and i think he will play with a chip on his shoulder because alot of people are doubting him. I think he is going to blow people away at the combine and be a lotto pick.

All I’m saying is Lillard isn’t good enough for a #6 pick, I was cool with lottery but #6?

And my bad, didn’t mean to say this draft was weak, meant to say his position this year is rather weak, but the entire Draft isn’t that strong, it’s good, but it’s not a 03 draft or anything,Solid.

I don’t think the mock draft has been properly updated yet, give Aran some time, and it’ll be the best one in no time. But even though I’d love for us to get Beal at 7, what are we going to do with another guard? But Beal won’t slip that far, and I’d honestly be happy with PJ3, even at 7.

@aamir, how would you feel about getting Terrence Ross? I think he could be a steal and work his way into the lottery at the combine. Plus he can play the 2 or the 3 since he is like what 6’7? He is as athletic as they come and he is a decent outside shooter who can only get better. And he is a solid defender too

I actually like Beal.  If he measure out at 6’5" in shoes with his length stroke, and athleticism.  Portland has Wesley Mathews and hope to sign Batum.  It would not be wise to draft Beal and put him on the bench unless you planned on letting Batum go or moving Mathews.  I think if Portland keeps Hickson to back up Aldridge or play along side him. they may want to look at either Lillard, Beal or possibly Teague.  I will probably move Teague up in my drafts depending on workouts.  Same thing for Ross.  Beal is another player that may wind up better than his college numbers because of who he had to play with and also he may grow another inch or two.

@Conspiracy Brotha, To be honest, I’ve seen most of the big names but I’ve never seen Ross play, or Arnett Moultrie. But I’ve been wanting to watch some YouTube videos of him, but from all of the scouting reports I’ve read I like him, seems like a big strong guy with good height and strength to play the 3. I’ll watch some of him but honestly, I’m just relieved that we got to keep the pick.
