Uh, Brandon Bass doesn’t play for the Magic anymore, he plays for the Celtics..

And I still don’t think these few games are a fair sample size to say they’re better without him. They played a Pacers team with an injured best player (Danny Granger) and are now playing a banged up Celtics team in their own right (no Jermaine O’neal or Avery Bradley, Ray Allen isn’t 100%). I still don’t think the Heat win a championship this year without Chris Bosh.

but his abscence tells me that the heat may be even BETTER if they traded him for some depth…..say a trade to the magic for jameer nelson and brandon bass just off the top of my head not taking time to think of the best deal……..just a thought not even that it’s something that they NEED to do…..

Dude, I disagree, they have enough role players. But something tells me you didn’t watch todays game because then you would know Bass is on the Celtics.

No Jermaine O’Neal as an excuse? You can do better. (Kobe voice)

O’Neal is a decent center still. I get what your saying but I disagree. They need a guy that is reliable and can create his own shot against bigs and also knock that wide open mid range jumper with the best of them, Bosh brings that

i think they can get a post player that brings that and a better pg for him……but at the same time maybe a better pg isn’t needed with wade and lbj dominating the ball so much……just wanted something to discuss…..their team is fine the way it is it made it to the finals last year and will probably make it back this year just wanted something to talk about….

I’m just saying he hasn’t been relevant for what seems like years.

     Why’d this dude get -6?

Chris Bosh just shoots midrange jump shots. Thats really it. He has no post game, doesn’t rebound, is nothing special defensively…oh, and the Heat are rolling through the East without him.

The Heat’s supporting cast is "fine"? I dont agree with this at all. Its basically a bunch of 3 point shooters who never hit 3 point shots, and 2 lousy big men.

    TRADE HIM.

Chris Bosh is an all star. Maybe his role is reduced to a pick and pop jump shooter, but his midrange J is automatic. He is a proven 20 and 10 guy. They made it to the Finals with him last year and were TWO wins from a championship in year ONE; and may be able to without him this year but thats because they have two great players still playing that can make these spot up jump shooters and mediocre big men look not so bad. Bosh is a huge upgrade from a Turiaf ANthony Haslem combo combined.

Has this forum lost its mind?? Bosh is a good player, no doubting that. But fellas, this is a league with a salary cap and the 3rd option cannot be eating up that much cap space.

As of now, Bosh plays 3rd fiddle to Wade and James. Having that 3rd option helps, but there are other players out there who can put up numbers that he is now for wayyyyyyyyyy less money.

Not to mention, this BIG 3 formula is extremely strenous on the stars. They are forced to play major minutes because all of the team’s resources are concentrated on Bosh, Wade and James. The Heat should definitely think about trading Bosh next year, and get some players that helps them with cap space.

Heat could pick up pieces in the draft on grab some vets for cheap like a lot of team have done.  Heat are making money.  You have smaller market teams that are having the same cap issues that are finding ways to get some good talent.  Heat has like 3 quality small forwards and that is Lebron’s best position. They need to move one of those guys for some guard help or some front court help.  They should also draft better.  A lot of other teams are drafting behind them and finding guys that are ready to play from the get go.

How could a team with a third player eating so much of the cap ever compete! I mean San Antonio would never have it’s big 3 make more than Miami’s!  Wait, what’s that you say?  They do?  Oh, well then that’s why they don’t compete!  Damnit, they do that, too?  Maybe then the problem isn’t the big 3 idea, but that Miami has done a piss poor job of getting the right players and system around them.  Maybe.

Dude, the Heat can probably beat the Celtics without Bosh, but if you think they can beat the Spurs or Thunder without him you’re crazy.

What we are seeing right now, is King James is good enough to win games by himself. Don’t forget, he did that in Cleveland a lot. They will be better when Bosh comes back though.
