    The Lottery is this week and Orl has gone on record recently as saying they’ll wait to see how it shakes out before exploring their trade options.

    So my questions are,

    If you get the #1 pick, do you trade Davis and other pieces for Dwight Howard?

    If your Portland or NewOrleans with 2 lottery picks that are outside the top 3 and Orl asks for both to be included in a package for Dwight Howard, do you make that deal? (NJ would be kicking themselves for trading their 2nd lotto pick to Por for Wallace.)

    **Assume Howard will agree to sign a long term deal to make the trade worth while.

    Howard can take a team like the Bobcats and make them a playoff team… but the Bobcats won’t be a championship contender and it will be hard to “build through the draft” when you pick 15 or later every year. Welcome to Houstons nightmare. New Orleans might be suitable if they keep Eric Gordon. Howard and Gordon could build something special. Por might be the best landing spot with Aldridge and Howard forming the best complimentary frontline I can think of… however, its a lot to give up in my opinion. What do you do?

    No team that is in the lottery will trade their pick for Dwight Howard unless he is willing to sign an extension with them.

    You know what happens when you assume. Especially when youre assuming Howard will sign a long term deal with any of the teams that arent even close to sniffing the playoffs.

    @BrokenHelix

    Of course… I mentioned that in my post.

    @Tight Butthole

    It seems doubtful he would, but Howard is a bit nutty in that he’s not even really sure what he wants.  Stranger things have happened.  The point of this exercise is to guage Howards precieved value,… after back surgery and knowing what type of albatross his contract will be as the acquiring team tries to place valued pieces around him… but without having high lotto picks to do so.  It might end up that whatever team Howard goes to is in the exact same position Orl is in right now.  Unless Howard walks as a FA, which he could have done during this past condensed season.

    This year’s NBA draft Lottery is almost scripted for Brooklyn to win on May 30th & trade the pick for DH- time will tell.

     Even if Howard wanted to go to some of those teams, which he doesnt, his agent would convince him of how stupid he is for even considering it.  Like j_smoove said, only if Brooklyn happened to be one of those lottery teams.

    The Bobcats are run like crap.  Why does futility earn quality?
