J_01ParticipantWhose draft stock will be affected most by their measurements?
I think Drummond, Trob, Mkg have a lot riding on how they measure at the combine. If Drummon measures as he’s listed at 6’11 270lbs then he’ll probably end up being a lock and taken 2nd after Davis. If Trob measures at anything lower than 6’8 in shoes he might fall out of the top 5 same with MKG if he ends up being less than 6’6. For MKG, he might not fall out of the top 5 but if he’s at like 6’5.5 w/shoes teams might not think he can play the 3 and have to be a 2 guard without a reliable jumper.

MalcolmxParticipantAll of these guys have been measured before at camps and came out to their listed hieghts also it’s not way any of them slip out of the top 5 in any way, shape or form.

SpacegrassParticipantKidd Gilchrist and Drummond have not been measured at any camps recently so it will be interesting to see where those two come out with the tape. Then you have guys like Sullinger and Thomas Robinson who have measured at 6’10 in shoes in the last year yet many believe them to be 6’8-6’9. If they both measure at 6’10 , I can promise you Anthony Davis and John Henson might be 6’11-7’0. There is still a few important prospects that have not measured recently including Kidd Gilchrist that need the "tale of the tape" to be positive.

FearTheStacheParticipantSeeing Drummond in person, I’m pretty sure he will measure to be 7′. In comparison to Oriakhi, he was a good 3-4 inches taller than him. If Jae Crowder measures less than 6’6" or 6’5", then he is screwed, although I read he measured at 6’3" at the nets combine, in which case he won’t get drafted.

SpacegrassParticipantI saw Drummond from 2 feet away when he was in high school and I am sure he is 6’11 at least , but I am not sure he is 270-275 like he is listed some places.

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantI wonder who will win the T-Rex award (tall, but with a short wingspan), as made famous by Jon Scheyer, this year?

akhan786ParticipantI think Austin Rivers’s measurements could get him into the lottery if he has legit 2 guard size and is around 6’4-5 in shoes.
But if he is anything lower than that I wouldn’t waste a lottery pick on him.
Something that is working for him though is his wingspan which is above average. It’d be interesting to see too what his speed and agility tests are, because though he has a pretty quick step, he seems to be rather mediocre in open court speed.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI think MKG is a top 5 pick anyway. But, if he is about 6’6 1/2 or 6’7 in shoes he could go 2 or 3. Especially if he has a great wingspan.
If there is some way that Draymond Green measures 6’7 1/2 or 6’8 in shoes (or taller) with an extra long wingspan and he shows up in great shape then I think he can move into the middle of the first round. I think he has a great skill set, so if he is closer to 6’8 than 6’6 then he will move up the draft boards. Instead of going at 30-33 he might go at 20-23. Not sure if there is anyone else who can move up 10 spots in this draft. Fab Melo maybe, or Perry Jones, or someone like Will Barton, but that would be more due to great workouts rather than just measurements.

mamadouParticipantIf sully, T-rob and green are taller than 6’9, 6’8 and 6’6 i eat a rat…

TallmanNYCParticipantJon Sheyer pulled a t-Rex? I don’t think it mattered for shooting guards that much. I think the Morris Twins were the latest guys who fell to the t-Rex problem. Long arms help a ton in basketball. But if you can produce with whatever God gave you then you can produce. Morris twins are struggling a bit so far but it seems like they will both stick in the league.

TheLastWordParticipantI’m thinking MKG will come up a little shy of 6’7" in shoes. Doesn’t quite pass the eye test.
I don’t think Drummond hits the 7′ mark but if he does will go #2 without hesitation.

Pro 1ParticipantTony Wroten Jr measured out at 6’5 w/o shoes & 6’6.5 with shoes at the 2011 Deron Williams Skill Academy if those measurements hold up at the combine he will begin to rise quickly especially if Beal, Austin and the like come up shorter than advertised in my mind.

khaled_a_dParticipantMKG was measured in 2011 Nike Hoop Summit
Height (with shoes): 6-7
Weight: 221.5
Wingspan: 6-110 - Posted on: Sun, 05/27/2012 - 4:11am #674153

JoeWolf1I’m a proud member of the T-Rex club and I will welcome the newest members with open arms…although it be, short arms.
I think Sullinger and Robinson will be around 6’8” barefoot and 6’9” -6’9.5” in shoes
That being said, I think Sullinger and Robinson’s standing reach will be over 9′ which is a better indicator of length in the NBA.
