WälseParticipantThe “IT” Factor doesn’t exist. What the heck is “IT”? how do you get “IT”? can you turn “IT” off and on? can you lose “IT”? who decides who has “IT”. can statistics measure “IT”? i get annoyed when guys throw “IT” around like its the “one ring to rule them all” or some gift bestowed on a select few. “IT” is some garbage…

Mr. BasketballParticipantno its not. everyone doubted matt ryan because of his high INT rate but he was good. remember he was said to have the IT factor. A guy who has a lot of talent and no work ethic does not have IT and therefore will not succeed. IT does exist.

WälseParticipantso you define “IT” as having great talent and a great work ethic? that’s pretty reasonable.

gwh21ParticipantI would define it as having that charisma and swagger that you need to have to succeed. Players will follow confident people and people with that “IT” factor are the ones that are the great leaders. Not NBA related, but if you look at Vince Young in college, in the (I believe) 2006 Rose Bowl. He showcased what it means to have “IT”. He improved the people around him and was able to take his game to the next level in prime time. That is my definition of “IT”. So, it really can’t be measured and can’t really be learned past a certain point, but those who have it and also have the physical tools to go with it are the ones we call LEGENDS.

QHaynes123IT seperates NBA superstars from guys who can play but cant lead..thus not having IT

pistonsmanParticipantThere is no IT factor. So just quit talking.

ch15r36isParticipantIt’s just a made-up term to describe smart and/or hard-working players who have talent.

billykParticipantThe “IT” factor is the god given innate ability to transcend your game to whatever level it takes to win…. You can be the smartest athlete, the most hardworking player, or the most talent player but that doesnt mean you have the “IT” factor.

sheltwon3ParticipantThe “IT” factor is real and it is not just something that is present in sports. Some people have a way about them that enhances others and also can raise to the challenge when needed whether it is football , basketball, video games, work, racing. “IT” can not be measure because no one know what “IT” is unless you have it. I am pretty sure in everyone’s lifetime you have met someone that has “IT” regarding something.

WälseParticipantthere is no “IT” factor. you are either great or you are not. if there was an “IT” factor in sports great players wouldn’t come up small in big situations so often. Yankee fans would say Jeter has “IT”. does he? “IT” hasnt helped him lately. if Vince Young had “IT” what happened to “IT”. if Kobe has “IT” where is “IT” right now? Big Papi seemed to have “IT” but he certainly lost “IT” recently. i just think talented players get in “The Zone” sometimes and have great games. Unlike “IT” i think “The Zone” does exist. We’ve all been there. Great players just spend a lot of time there. I think “IT” applies more outside of sports and has more to do with charisma in life than it does with anything sports related. The Dos Equis guy has “IT”. lol…Sean Connery has “IT”…Denzel has “IT”…Jack has “IT”…

billykParticipantYou are right alphamale310 but we arent perfect “IT” doesnt mean you will always win it just means that you have the ability to turn up the notch a little further than most…..

BasketballGuru24ParticipantThe “IT” is More Of The Swagger of the athlete ……and how they can do things other people can’t do but like GWH21 Said It is usually talked about with kobe and Mj i don’t anybody else
