Lebron is far and away the best rundown block artist in the history of the NBA.  I can’t think off the top of my head of any other NBA player that comes even close to have done some of the things Lebron has done recently.  Who else in recent history perfected the rundown block?

Lebron is the best in my memory, from a full court standpoint.  His speed and desire to run the floor on both ends has made him a master of that one specific type of block, although for his size and athletic ability, he’s not a very impressive shot blocker overall.

It depends on how specific "rundown" is because a lot of the great shot blocking centers. Mutombo and Olajuwon come to mind were very good at it in the half court set.  Often a guard would enter the lane and they’d slide over after the guard had passed them and block their shot from behind.

noooooooooooo, rundown as in turnover, Lebron is at the free throw line, PG of opposing team at top of the key, Lebron sprints the court and blocks PG’s shot at the rim  Olajuwon and Mutombo????

Josh Smith has had a few nice ones. No one holds a candle to Lebron tho. I’d actually like to see the numbers on this. I wouldn’t be suprised if Lebron had 5x more rundown blocks than the next closest player

Why dont people use the ” jumpstop” ?? That is what we were taugh as kids. You would send Lebron into the stands

John Wall "could" provide some excellent LeBron-esqe blocks if he really matures into the defensive player he could be. He’s lightening quick and at 6’5" has long arms to get those rundown blocks. He averaged just under a block this season and 0.7 per game for his career. Check out some of his blocks below. He could challenge LeBron in that sense but for now, LeBron reigns supreme
