LeBron James received the most votes for the NBA’s All-Defensive first-team. Serge Ibaka, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tony Allen joined him.Jessica Camerato @JCameratoNBA
Garnett and Rondo named to #NBA All-Defensive Second Team with Deng, Chandler, BryantThe funny part is that Tyson was named DPOY but did not make it all first defensive! Lol!

mikeyvthedonParticipantI can’t believe Tyson Chandler got left off the 1st team, that is crazy. When Dikembe Mutombo won DPOY in 1994-95, he was also selected to the All-Defensive 2nd Team. Alvin Robertson in 1985-86 as well. So, not the first time a DPOY is selected to the All-Defensive 2nd Team, but still makes absolutely no sense.
Also funny that LeBron got the most votes and finished 4th in DPOY voting. Tyson got 45 out of 121 DPOY votes, with Dwight getting 18. Guess there were enough people who believed Dwight was the superior defender this season out of the rest of the voters. Well, I still thought Tyson Chandler deserved DPOY, much less being one of the 5 best defensive players in the league.

xavier328ParticipantI would have took Kobe off for Iman Shumpert
and squeeze Mike Conley on one of them list

Same number of votes as Luc Mbah a Moute.
Sigh.

omphalosParticipantI’m shocked Kobe made first team over someone like Iguodala or Paul George.

thparadoxParticipantKobe making this list is completely absurd. Iguodala got robbed.
Other defenders who are better than Kobe: Sefolosha, Shumpert, Avery Bradley, Wade. I’d rather have Lowry and Jrue Holiday too

aamir543ParticipantSo the guys that was voted the best defender, is at the same time outside of the top 5? The NBA is the wierdest thing on the face of the earth, and that’s just the way we all like it, lol.

mcbaileyParticipantI really, really don’t understand how a DPOY can not be first team all-defense. It kind of diminishes the value of the award since the entire process seems trivial and nonsensical now.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantthats simple guys. DPOY is voted by media. Teams are voted by coaches.
