xavier328ParticipantToo funny…Jalen has a point but…he pick the wrong dude(Kwwwwwame Brown) to take up for . you can see he hurt Skip feeling.

mikeyvthedonParticipantAre super effing annoying. They know what Jalen is saying. Jalen knows what they are saying too, I suppose. The problem is, if Stephen A and Skip did not say the stupid things the utter about athletes they do not know the first thing about, than they would not have jobs. Both of those guys are pure shock value and so little insight it is staggering. It is really hard for me to listen to either of them, much less give a $hit about what either says. Think more and more people are coming around to that category with these two talking heads of bitterness.

surveParticipantStephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless cant call anyone a scrub that is playing on a higher level than they could….whether its Kwame Brown or whoever. They said that Kwame Brown is a scrub because he is on the lower tier, relative to all other NBA players. How much does Kwame get paid again? I dont remember him being paid like a lower tier player. I dont know many people who are considered failures and scrubs and garbage or what not that brings in $7 mil a year….for being those things.

surveParticipantalso, all the comments bashing jalen on youtube are dumb. jalen is saying to be mindful of people’s feelings and their family. there is no need to cross the line to critique someone. skip just sat there and said he doesnt care how people feel but jalen crossed the line with him to prove a point…and obviously it hurt Skip’s feelings. Skip doesnt care who’s being offended until its him on the receiving end.
we joke here about Chris Bosh for instance, but we are just bloggers and such. I majored in Print Journalism in college. To call Chris Bosh "Bosh Spice" may be funny and attracts the eyes and ears but it is simply irresponsible journalism. It wont stop, but that doesnt mean its 100% excusable.

Malik-UniversalParticipant^ i see what ur saying… but these guys are getting paid millions to put a ball into a hoop… its not like their attacking their character or families…. journalists and analysts get paid to critic when need be… sometimes its unfair but welcome to life

surveParticipantcritical is one thing, disrespect is another. it doesnt make a difference how much or how little a man is making, that is still another man (or woman). they are attacking character and it spills over into personal life. these people have children that go to school and they are already alienated enough sometimes. thats the problem with the world now….nobody has any respect for anything anymore. did you see how crushed Skip was when Jalen got in is azz? sometimes guys like Skip have envy issues….he was clearly upset because he had to settle to be a journalist as opposed to a player. you can be critical without crossing the line into name-calling and other nonsense.

mikeyvthedonParticipantWhat are his valid points in this piece? That Kwame Brown is not a good player relative to where he was picked in the draft or for the money he is making? That when he dreams of being Kwame Brown at night he is a much better player with a more potent jump shot? Please. If you like him that is fine, but I find very little validity to his points. Think Jalen Rose made much more sense, while Stephen A yelled like a banshee and acted like an 8 year old.
In the world of basketball commentary, I find STEEEEEEE-VIN EH SMMMMMIFFFFFFFFF, to be a relative scrub.

JoeWolf1That was pretty dumb. Kwame being the #1 pick in 2001 has nothing to do with him playing NBA ball right now. He’s earned his place in the league as a big strong dude who is hard to move and will give you 15-20 minutes off the bench at the PF and C position.
If Kwame Brown were taken #9 in his draft, no one would be calling him a scrub right now. It’s still that lingering expectation of him being the #1 pick, now 11 years removed. He IS a bust, but he’s not one of the worst players in the league.

Malik-UniversalParticipantyeah stephen a is really loud… but basically all hes saying is that the dude was drafted number one overall and hasnt developed…. but we all get that… and saying that he has the right to critic other players and what not….. dont get me wrong i give credit to kwame brown being in the league for this long….. hes had a decent career
