Edit: my bad guys the video wont show on here for some reason

He wears double zero. He’s a southpaw. He attacks the rim with ferocity. He sees the floor like a hawk. He’s wet from range. He’s one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects. He has Coach Cal watching his games. He plays alongside top rising senior Julius Randle for the Texas Titans and Prestonwood Christian. He’s Mickey Mitchell, one of the nation’s top players in the Class of 2015.

Or shamelessly throwing around pictures that don’t make any sense for a laugh or two.  Kanye is right on cue.

I’ve been hearing that he and his father think it’s a better business decison for him to pursue football instead of basketball.

Kid is an elite elite quarterback prospect.

He seems like a good player, but I think that there are a few others who seem to be in contention for top spot in the 2015 class. As paradigmn has stated his opinion, Malik Newman from Mississippi was voted as the freshman of the year by ESPN. He just had a very strong weekend in Dallas playing for the Jackson Tigers U17 in the EYBL. He averaged 16.5 ppg over 4 games, including 26 points in his first game (where he apparently played only 14 minutes. Does not make much sense that he only played that many, so I do not know if it is legit, but 26 points in a win is impressive enough).

His father, Horatio Webster, played for Mississippi State and was I believe 6-8. So, seeing that Malik is listed at about 6-2, seems like he might have room to grow a bit. Even if he doesn’t grow much more, he is off to a great start and has guard skills.

Mickey made MaxPreps 2nd Team All-American, which does not limit his ranking, but shows he probably has competition. I believe his U16 team is doing very well and am sure he is a reason why. Still, Kejuan Johnson (6-6) is a starter for Each 1 Teach 1 at the U17 level. Karl Towns Jr. is a 6-10 beast who averaged 12 and 10 for a 28-2 St. Joseph’s team out of New Jersey. California has a few high powered guards including Tyler Dorsey (6-4), Marcus Lovett Jr. (5-11, averaged 31.7 ppg) and Jrue Holiday’s younger brother Aaron (5-10). Perry Dozier Jr. and Isaiah Briscoe are another couple of guards who have really impressed early.

So, do not know if Mitchell is the best, but from what I have seen and heard, he is a great prospect. Not sure about his being a point forward down the line and exactly how old he is (hear he was held back a tad), just know he has been considered one of the better 2015 players for a while now. I know he played really well when Prestonwood won the City of Palms. Certainly off to a very good start in his early HS career.
