valentineHi there. Any Kings’ fans out there ? Lovin’ Harrison Barnes for us. Need and good pick at the same time. If he’s gone, love Tony Wroten as the future 2. He’s big enough to be a 2, slashes well, can score and play solid D. Good replacement should Marcus Thornton fade or move on. Jared Sullinger is a solid pick too. Get back to me Kings’ fanatics. Take care. Thanks.
Mark

RUDEBOY_ParticipantThe Kings need shooters Barnes or drafting Lamb and put him at the 3..And they need a point guard thats better than Thomas..They should go for the best player available..For some reason i have a feeling that they will get a top 3 pick…

Jlv2012They should try to trade the pick along with Donte Green, Francisco Garcia, and John Salmons for a good veteran player.

TomShoeParticipantIf they don’t win the Unibrow Sweepstakes, I’d like Harrison Barnes. His shooting allows the Kings to space the floor and open things up so Isaiah Thomas and (hopefully) Jimmer can create scoring opportunities for Barnes, DeMarcus, and Tyreke.
On the other hand, Barnes was a little exposed when he was forced to play without Kendall Marshall, a PG par-excellance. I noticed he did struggle a bit when he was forced to create his own shots, and I’m not sure how good of a shot creator he’ll be on the NBA level, where guys are bigger and faster.
Tbh, Barnes would be a great pickup for the Kings, but a team like Washington could snap them up first if they decide to snatch Harrison instead of taking the #2 MKG (Who is not a great shooter BTW…)
If that happens, the next SF on the board is #20 Quincy Miller, so the Kings will have to just…

Memphis MadnessParticipantWould the Kings trade Tyreke Evans and the 25th pick for OJ Mayo in a sign and trade?
I don’t think the Grizzlies want to keep OJ Mayo. And he might demand more money than we are willing to pay him. If we can get Reke for him that would be great. Reke would give us another wing scorer and another ball handler. I think that Tyreke Evans would be an ideal 3rd or 4th scorer if he could buy into our system.
We don’t have much to trade. I guess the Grizzlies could throw in Jeremy Pargo or Josh Selby to sweeten the deal.

RUDEBOY_Participant@Memphis Madness, do you think the Kings would do a Evans & Jimmer for Conley & OJ Mayo trade?
Heisley said he wants OJ back..But they cant afford to resign him with GasolZBo and Rudy all having big deals..Rumor has it that they might look into trading ZBo next year…Hollins has said he likes Wroten’s aggressiveness and ability to get in the lane and believes he’ll be there when they pick..But People in the Media wants them to pick Teague,to backup Conley..

KayjayParticipantThe OJ Mayo trade and addition of Harrison barnes I wouldn’t be against at all. I’d love to have both additions to the team. And btw I think we roll with IT as our starting point guard. He was excellent last year, and despite height he proved he’s starting material. He reminds me (Not the same thing yet) of a Ty Lawson type. With the ability to score and run the offense in transition. I want Harrison Barnes on the Kings real bad.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI don’t think we should move Z Bo. He is a guy who came off an injury and had 2 solid games in the first round. I still think he is a 17 and 10 guy even if he can’t come all the way back. But, if we trade Z Bo we need a STAR next to him. … I am not sure that his trade value is that high.
Rudy and Z Bo make a good 1-2 punch on offense if they can get some chemistry going. With Gasol being the 3rd option.
… I like Conley, I don’t want to trade him. He is basically one of the few guys that Grizz fans don’t want to move. If fans are talking about trades, the two names they mention are Rudy and Z Bo. MC has a decent outside shot, can get to the rim, and facilitate the offense. Conley and Gasol are our main two players responsible for getting us into the offense. The rest of the players on our team aren’t that great at it.
If we traded Conley then we would need to get a true playmaker back. I am thinking of using Reke more as a shooting guard, more off the ball. An attacker at the wing along with Rudy. And even using a Reke/Conley backcourt with Reke running the ball some with Conley spotting up. Or Tyreke Evans running the second team with a few hustling role players on it (it looks like Tony Allen, Quincy Pondexter, and Dante Cunningham).
… I like Jimmer’s potential but we really need a true point guard. … I think the Kings would do that but it wouldn’t be good for the Grizzlies. I don’t think that Jimmer could run the offense. He is more of a backup instant offense type.
For you guys, Isaiah Thomas shows promise. If he is your guy then if you go after another point guard I would go after one that is either a pure passer or a pure scorer. Conley is sort of in-between. I think you can build a contender with IT as your point guard just as you can with Conley as your point guard.
The best deal for Tyreke if we can get it done on our side would be a sign and trade of OJ Mayo, the 25th pick, and Jeremy Pargo (speed, defense, raw) for Tyreke Evans.
IT, Thornton, and OJ would be a good 3 guard rotation for you guys. Pargo could be good point guard depth. There should be some solid players at 25. Build around DeMarcus Cousins. You could draft MKG as a high motor small forward, T Rob as a great power forward complement to Cousins, or Harrison Barnes as a wing scorer.
I am envisioning Tyreke being our 3rd scorer behind Gay and Z Bo. A 15-5-5 guy who can also be our ball handler when Conley is resting on the bench. Reke could run the second unit with TA and Q-Pon on the wings and Dante Cunningham as an athletic power forward.
The Grizzlies have about 6.5 million to spend on about 4 or 5 players so we can’t spend a whole lot of money. I want us to sign Steve Novak as our 3 point shooter off the bench. He can also be our extra power forward if we don’t resign Darrell Arthur. We need to get into the 2nd round to get some cheap players. I would try to move Josh Selby to the Trailblazers for their two late 2nd round picks. Then draft experienced four year players to round out the roster. I am thinking of a 3 point shooter and Quincy Acy as our Reggie Evans type player.
Resign Hamed Haddidi or if he is too expensive go with two cheap veteran centers. Then add a veteran backup point guard. I am thinking Royal Ivey perhaps. He can run an offense and defend. Or Derek Fisher if we can get him cheap. He can shoot and run an offense. He also has a few titles.
Our team wouldn’t have a true sixth man, but we would have a top rate 3 point shooter, two good high energy guys on the wing, and some other role players with some big men in there. Our starting five would have plenty of scoring, especially inside and on the wing. Then we can bring in our second unit as our Grit ‘n Grind unit that can wear teams down, defend, and force turnovers. Then get some garbage points, and fast break points. Our nine man rotation would be Conley, Reke, Gay, Z Bo, Gasol, TA, Quincy Pondexter, Steve Novak, and Dante Cunningham. Two rookies, a veteran point guard on the cheap, and a couple of bargain basement bigs would round out our roster.

JordanC20ParticipantI believe that the Kings need leadership more than anything…
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist would be ideal in my opinion if he is available.

HitsterParticipantSacramento have several decent draft options depending where they will pick, at worse they will be picking 8th and that would need a freak result with the lottery balls.
I fully agree that if they miss out on Davis then MKG or Barnes are sound choices and both can easily be accomodated on the roster. The backcourt currently has nice depth with Evans, Thornton, Thomas and Jimmer so taking another SG would not make great sense.
Thomas Robinson would be a great fit alongside DMC and if Drummond could co-exist on court alongside DMC then they would form a huge frontcourt.
If the Kings did slip down a place or two in the draft then they could maybe trade down for Perry Jones or John Henson.

What The DevilParticipantDepends on where our pick lands…I wouldn’t be opposed to rolling the dice on Drummond(assuming we don’t get the #1 pick obviously) to pair with Cousins but that is going to require a top 4 pick probably….anything outside of top 4 I would think MKG or Barnes depending on who is there…

earldaniel31Participanti like Barnes but they have a platoon of SF’s (i think they will re-sign T-Will; decline on Greene) they should also try & get rid of Salmons’ contract if they can (w/c i doubt) & maybe go after 1 of the UFA PG’s like Dragic..
SAC needs another big body.. after Cousins & JT (if they re-sign him), they only have Hayes & Whiteside.. Drummond would be the logical choice, if they do pick 5th..
