fliptonnParticipantIt’s been a while since we talked about this guy. The Nets own his rights after last years draft. Supposedly he was originally drafted as a trading piece to bring in Dwight. Interestingly though, he recently became the youngest person to win the Euroleague Regular Season MVP at age 23. He’s a scorer to the bone averaging almost 19 a game (which is huge in the Euroleague). Basically, the guy can play. Obviously not all great Euroleague players translate to NBA (Juan Carlos Navarro) but I don’t know how bad this guy can be as a 6’7 Shooting Guard MVP at 23. If the Nets can’t swing a trade for Dwight and lose Deron, is this a guy to build around? I like him. Let me know what youg guys think.

fliptonnParticipantNavarro was expected to make a bigger spash than all rookie second team at 27 years old though.
But what do you think about Bojan, you always offer good insight McDunkin. You think he’s anything special?

He was only 20, but I do not know if he was the youngest to ever win it. Just know he was one of Euroleague’s high PPG scorers in 2011 and averaged 13 ppg this year for Fenerbache Ulker in Turkey. As far as MVP of Euroleague goes, think that the overall award went to Andrei Kirilenko:
http://www.euroleague.net/news/i/97521/180/2011-12-all-euroleague-first-second-teams-announced
All-Euroleague 1st team was Kirilenko, Nenad Krstic, Vassilis Spanoulis, Erazem Lorbek (rumored to be going to the Spurs as of next season) and Dimitris Diamantidis. 2nd Team was Juan Carlos Navarro, Milos Teodosic, Bo McCallebb, Henry Domercant and Mike Batiste. Seems like Bogdanovic did well, but Fenerbache did not get past the round of 16 to make it to the play-offs.
He led the team in scoring and appears to be a really solid shooter, definitely remember being impressed with his shooting from looking at him for the 2011 draft. Do not know what his contract situation is, but I am guessing he would play a fairly similar role to the ones Anthony Morrow and MarShon Brooks occupy. Seems like a guy who could come over soon, but I am not sure if he makes an immediate impact.
Juan Carlos Navarro actually looked pretty damn solid in my eyes. Think that it was completely his choice to go back to Spain and he appears to be as good as ever. Bogdanovic does not seem to have Navarro’s explosive driving ability, seems like he is more of a shooter. Not completely sure about his defensive acumen, either. My guess is he will be a solid value pick if he comes to the league, but he lacks ideal athleticism and am not sure he provides much beyond scoring. There is a place for that, but I do not how different he is as opposed to what New Jersey already has at that position. Probably more polished, if anything, but would not expect him to be a guy that turns much around in Brooklyn.

iminipandaParticipantIn regards to international players like Navarro, I think they need multiple years to really feel comfortable in the NBA. Navarro would have definitely improved the next season. I think Bojan will be a very successful player if the NBA. A smooth scorer with good size for a SG. He may not be a centerpiece but a good side piece to have none the less.

slash787ParticipantI see him as a Linas Kleiza type player. He should be a solid player that can knock down shots but he won’t be All NBA.

McDunkinI think it depends on if teams use him right/how much freedom he is given on the offensive end. He could end being anything from a spot up shooter to filling a J.J. Redick type sg role
