I wonder if he had brain damage that might have contributed to this.

The NFL concussion situation is gonna be shaken up by this whether its related or not, especially seeing as its the same way Dave Duerson took his life.

Man… This sucks. This really does. I saw this and my mouth just dropped. He was one of my favorite players man.

My prayers go out to him and his family.

goddamn!  this is a shocker.  I just watched him a couple of weeks ago on the food show "Heatseekers".   It amazes me about the suicide implications because you are talking about a very personable, charasmatic, and extremely likable guy.  Not to mention I loved him as a player.

There’s clearly a correlation between the two. I’m sure they’ll do plenty of tests on Seau’s brain.

This is sad. He was only 43 years old… Crazy. One of the toughest players to ever play the game looks like he just took his own life.

I will hold off on saying this was a suicide until more details are provided.  When speaking of suicide however, there could be several contributing factors if this was the case.  Concussions of course is what most will lean towards but also, some of these guys who have serious injuries take a lot of medication.  We dont know what Junior was taking.   He very well couldve been taking something that made him depressed or enhanced his level of depression.

Again, my sympathies to a great player and what seemed like a really cool individual.

Junior also drove his car off of a cliff a couple of years ago and claimed he fell asleep at the wheel.  This dude has some serious issues/demons he was dealing with.

Really hate for his family. Really sucks. Suicide really is one of the most selfish things a person can do. Your not just leaving the world. Your leaving your friends and family with nothing. Prayer goes out to his family

I loved Seau as a player even though he spent a huge portion of his career destroying my team (Raiders).  What a sad day.  RIP Junior.

I was never a chargers fan, but I always respected him, how he played and how he carried him self off of the field. He was truely a class act, and a great person for kids to look up to.

"Seau is the 8th member of the 1994 San Diego Chargers team to die before the age of 45 … joining linebacker David Griggs, running back Rodney Culver, linebacker Doug Miller, center Curtis Whitley, defensive end Chris Mims, defensive tackle Shawn Lee and linebacker Lew Bush."

    …. wooow…. 45 is very very young.
