beerandhiphopParticipantRemember when carter was considered appreciably better (not just more exciting) It’s a testament to Pauls sickeningly high skill level. He hasnt had anything close to world class athleticism since Benzino had him shanked. Dude is a beast, He has the sloppiest handle ever that somehow manages to work plus he throws up Bentley B’s at opponents who talk shit! Gangsta…

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantIMO in their respective primes Carter was a notch better. Pierce has definitly had the better career though because he’s played at a high level for a longer time, won a championship and turned into a solid defender. In his prime though Carter was a monster that could score inside and outside, pass and rebound at a high level. Unfortunately that level of play only lasted about 5 or 6 years for VC and then his career really tailed off.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve always thought Pierce was better. He just didn’t get the hype that Carter got because he wasn’t as athletic or exciting. Carter got comparisons to Michael Jordan just because he could dunk, which gave him a lot of hype. All-Star games, I’d take Carter. Real NBA basketball games, I’d take Pierce.
I’ve always thought Pierce was a more skilled offensive player, plus he was tougher. I never felt a team could ride or die with Carter. Even when Allen and KG joined the Celtics, there was no doubt who the man was on the team and who they were going to go to majority of the time down the stretch of a game.
And now that both players are past their primes, it’s no surprise to me that Pierce is the better player. Carter not the same without young knees.

apb540ParticipantPaul Pierce is straight G. Go ahead and stab him; see if he doesn’t go on to play 82 games that season. Big ups to Tony Battie and his brother for keeping this HOFer alive.

capecodderParticipantVC was a highlight film vs an all around like PP….PP is a bit of a hot dog (not a showtome show off, just an exaggerator and embellisher), but clutch as long as does not try to do too much and force things….PP was/is also a superior defensive player
