What in the world happened to Rashard Lewis?   After Orlando gave that ridiculous contract to basically a three point jump-shooter, he’s traded to the Wiz in the Gilbert Arenas deal.  He averages 8 and 4 and doesn’t play the second half of the season after he injures his knee.  The most embarrassing performance out of a guy making 21 mil a year perhaps?

He’s done. He’ll likely get bought-out by the Wizards this summer.

I miss him & Ray Allen together, before he was overpaid.

Ever since the steroids situation, he really hasn’t been the same. I know he’s also struggled with a knee injury for the last two seasons I think.

A jumpshooter is nothing if he can’t get his legs underneath his shot.

^^Yeah, if you watch him play now, he almost gets no arc on his shot. He used to have arc in the past. That’s probably the biggest reason he’s regressed so much as a shooter.

Send him to the Suns, their training staff will fix him right up

When a veteran player gets traded to the Wizards it typically means they’re career is plummeting……example: Jerry Stackhouse

I won’t say Rashard Lewis is the worst 21mil player. That title remains with Jermaine O’Neal for the BS he displayed the past 4yrs

this was his 15th season, you guys still wondering why he’s regressed?

why has jermaine o’neal regressed? lots of wear and tear on these two individuals. Not everyone has kobe bryant’s toughness

He wasn’t that bad in Orlando, he average 18 per game his first two years, tailed off his last season tehre at 14 per game, but his mintues droped a bit, and then he fell apart the year he was traded. Someone will take a flier on him, but it looks like he’s done.

Shard wasn’t just a jumpshooter. He was actually a terrific post option and decent rebounder. He just fell too much in love with the 3pt shot later in his career. Not worth the money they gave him, but come on, was Brian Grant really orth the money he was payed in the end either?

He will get a chance as he is someone who spaces the floor, and is not a teams primary or secondary scorer. He would be sort of Robert Horry ish but way better.

Robert Horry could defend at the end of his career. Rashard Lewis couldn’t guard a chair right now.

Boston would be happy to have him on a decent contract right now.

Good point. A lot of people assumed that players drafted straight out of high school would last longer due to their youth, but really they just broke down at a younger age. You can’t escape the wear and tear of an 82 game season, plus practice and playoffs.

Lewis has had a very good career, especially for a second round pick. He’s put up some good numbers, made some big shots, been an All-Star and made tons of money.

IF he can get his knee in line (Germany?), he can still be a contributor on a team that needs a stretch four man off of the bench.

Yeah I mean he deffinitely still has some use, but he’s only going to be able to make about 1/8th of what he does now…Kevin Durant has been needing a decent backup for awhile…Lewis would be a great fit. Just imagine a 2nd group of Harden & Lewis…
