GTS 23Participantthey have no 20 and no 24. they need a scorer and a big man who can help KG. who’s a better fit for the celtics dion waiters or doron lamb? im mentioning these two guys, because they are the best SG’s available at that point. then at no 24 fab melo or festus ezeli? i would pick fab melo.

benny15Participantpersonally, i would rather the celtics take a small forward over a shooting guard since i want to Avery Bradley start at the two more. im hopping jeffrey taylor is still available or royce white if he slips. also, think if a better bigman prospect is available at their earlier pick, i’d take him. I’ve got John Henson projected at my mock for the celtics at 20. he’s the kind of guy i can see being in their rotation and being a role player.

GTS 23Participanti hope henson is available at 20, but i dont think hes going to get passed by so many teams. i really like royce white, but i have the feeling that his all around game wont translate to the nba that effectively. dont forget that jeff green is returning too, who can play multiple positions and plus we have pietrus-pavlovic at 3. the celtics need height, a strong big man who can defend centers like howard, bynum, noah, marc gasol. KG is turning 37 next season, the celtics can’t expect everything from him.

capecodderParticipantActually have #s 21 and 22
Need a 3 to develop behind Pierce (Harkless, Ross) and a big (Nicholson, Ezell)….don’t see Henson….prefer what they have in a thin JJJ

TheDagger40ParticipantI’m hoping with their first pick the Celtics grab a SF, either Harkless or PJ3 (if he falls)
With their second pick, grab a big like Ezeli or Fab Melo

omphalosParticipantIf Quincy Miller is available, I say take him with their first pick. He doesn’t need to be an impact player immediately at the SF position with Pierce playing so well, but has huge upside.
That said, if PJ3 falls or even Henson, I’d take them first over Miller, simply because we can still re-sign Jeff Green, who is a nice SF to back up Pierce and play spot minutes at the PF.

JoeWolf1I think Andrew Nicholson would be a great fit. I really think Jajuan Johnson will end up being a decent player, but I think Nicholson has more potential as a guy picked in the 20’s who would start in a few years.
Tony Wroten might be a decent gamble here too. Avery Bradley is really emerging as a defender, but he’s more of a combo guard who can lock down opposing PG’s. Wroten isn’t a pure PG either, but he could develop as one behind Rondo and provide some insurance in case Rondo does in fact leave. I don’t like Wroten as a high draft pick, but in the 20’s for a playoff team in the process of rebuilding, I think gambling on one of their picks would be worth the risk.

benny15Participantkeep in mind Jeff Green is far from a sure thing. they even pulled his qualifying offer when they knew he was going to be out for the year due to heart surgery. so i really dont know how sure it is that they’ll get him back next season. with this draft, i’d like the celtics to take talent and upside more than the current fit right now. its not even sure that KG will resign with the celtics, so im not labeling them as a play-off team. and as much as i acknowledge the need to shore up the center position, i dont see the available centers as potential starters for the league. i think Boston has a better shot at free agency or trading for one.

Meditated StatesParticipantI don’t think Bradley is a Combo really. His game is all two and he shuts down every two he faces and he also can guard PG’s. Harkless,Melo,Ezeli would all fit nice. I think Wroten would be a nice peice if he is there too. It would be nice to grab PJ3 but don’t see him even getting close to the 20’s. I am hoping Terence Ross is still available.
