It appears as though he’ll be gunning for the scoring title (which means nothing to him, FYI.) Here are the current odds on his shot totals tonight:

    30+ shots     1:10

    40+ shots     3:2

    50+ shots     10:1

Takes 31 shots, ends up one point shy of the scoring title.

David Robison did it back in the day and nobody will question his character. When you have a opportunity to make  history, you take it. This would play a psychological angle against Durant and the Thunder. He will know exactly what numbers he needs and then will do whatever will p!ss off Mike Brown. If Brown says go for it he will sit back and say its not important and mention he shoulda been resting with their position already secure. If Brown says I ‘m going to limit your minutes then he will take 70 shots in 22 minutes.

    thank you

If Kobe gets 38 tonight that would give him a scoring average of 28.0339 points per game which would leave Durant with an average of 28.0303.

38 shots for 39 points and he will make a 3 (thus giving him the scoring title) with less than two minutes left….just after missing 3 3pt shots in a row

He might break a record for the player who scores 40 points or more and passes the ball the least.

The real question is, how many times does Kobe pass the ball tonight?

Kobe’s number of shots versus Kobe’s number of passes.  Which one would make the better drinking game?

and i dont see anything wrong with kobe going for the scoring record either and can only assume people who do probably dont like kobe anyways. Its like a pitcher throwing a no hitter through 8 innings and staying in during the 9th even though the game is well in hand and he should probably rest. Its a menaingless game for the lakers that has no bearing on the playoff standings. I say go for the scoring title and have fun.

I know Kobe wants it, but he isn’t gonna shoot 35 shots or somthing to get there, he’s smarter than that. I expect the shot total to be around 25, higher if he’s strugling, lower if he’s balling.

Nevermind, just got word that contrary to a previous report, Kobe will sit tonight, if that holds up, Kevin Durant will have won his 3rd straight scoring tittle at only 23 years of age. That’s scary.
