This worries the crap out of me. The storyline goes exactly the same way:

"YOUNG RED-HOT TEAM WITH GOOD FRONT-LINE TAKES ON #1 SEEDED SPURS WHO HAVE WELL DOCUMENTED STRUGGLES AGAINST BIG TEAMS"

It sounds like a recipe for disaster. Hopefully Tiago and Duncan and hold down the paint while Bonner, Parker and Ginobili spread the floor. God help us should anyone get injured.

    Any thoughts?

    Spurs vs Grizzlies:  4-0

    Spurs vs Thunder:  2-1

    Spurs vs Jazz:  3-1

    Spurs vs Lakers:  2-1

    Spurs vs Mavericks:  2-2

    Spurs vs Clippers:  2-1

    Spurs vs Bulls:  0-1

    Spurs vs Pacers:  1-0

    Spurs vs Celtics:  1-0

    Spurs vs Magic:  2-0

    Spurs vs Hawks:  1-0

20-7 vs the best playoff frontlines.  Winning record against all except for two, one of which they split the series and another that they only played once.

    What problem against good front-lines?

Manu, arguably their best player, was hurt last year and Memphis still barely beat them… and they’re even better this year.  It’ll be fine.

Really?  Manu played five of the six games, the Spurs were damn lucky to win game 5 and Memphis was without Rudy Gay.  Try again.  That said, I think the Spurs should at least make the conference finals.

I honestly think they will have no problems, I’d be surprised if Jazz won more than 1.

Yeah the Jazz aren’t who I’d be worried about, I’d be more concerned with the Clippers. Chris Paul is the only PG in the West that has an advantage against Tony Parker, who has been the most important player for the Spurs this season, and we all know how beastly CP3 is in the playoffs.

Oh, and I’m well aware the Westbrook plays in the West, but I give Tony Parker the edge this season, and especially in the post-season.

The West is really wide open to me, all the teams except Denver and Utah have a legitimate chance to make it to the Finals, the difference between them all is very slim.

I agree with u tomshoe lighting prolly is about to strike. Jazz front line is nice I have great respect for Timmy but al is to much for him at this stage u also throw in milsap which is a beast at his role and favors plus Kanter off the bench that’s to much size. They also have a nice collection of wings with Hayward miles and burks. Only way I see spurs winning is tony keeps up his great play which I do expect but they also need Jackson to play big. I know tongue out posted spurs reg season record vs front lines but playoffs were matchups get exposed and spurs are to small IMO Harris does also have to play well for jazz whih is my main concern. Bye da way dis ur boy 1st post just wondering how u create a forum cuz I got a couple thoughts I wanna drop

I’m not remotely worried about the Clips for the Spurs.  The Clips defense is atrocious and the Spurs will hang huge numbers on them.  There’s also no way Pop loses in a 7-game series to Del Negro, particularly with home court.  Lakers, Thunder and potentially the Grizzlies are the major threats.

The Spurs are healthier, deeper, their young players have developed and their just a better team this year.  I see the Utah series going 5 max.  The key will be avoiding injury for guys like Tony and Manu as they drive into those big bodies

exactly pulseglazer…. If im the spurs im definitely hoping the clips knock off memphis, as the grizz pose more problems for the spurs. Not a chance pop loses to vinny ‘im going to scream at opposing players as they shoot’ del negro

i think utah can definitely make spurs life miserable and take them to 6, maybe 7. the huge X factor is wether or not devil harris shows up. in the month of april so far he’s been playing good, doubling his 3s attempting 6 per game at a 42% clip. if he goes in the playoffs and manages to get 17 and 5 (like in april) the whole team will play better because he stretches the floor and gets others involved.

Last year Timmy was an aging big averaging only 13 and 9 and getting barely any touches in the playoffs. This year Timmy has been averaging 17 and 10 in 29 minutes per for the last two months, ever since the begining of March, Tony Parker is rejuvanated, they wtill have Blair, Bonner, Neal, Splitter, they have Jackson instead of Jefferson, the benefit being that Jacson can create his own shot, they have Kawahi Leanord this year while having Danny Green to replace George Hill, and Manu is healthy this year. If the Jazz get lucky they’ll push it to 5 or 6.

Oh yeah, and happy birthday to Tim Duncan, turns 36 today, still one of the best bigs in the game regardless of what anyone says, 15.5 and 9 in 28 minutes per is impressive at any age, I hope he gets one last ring, but that also means he’ll probably go off into the sunset and retire.

Timmy, Manu, Tony, and Pop won’t be there for the games against Phoenix and GS. They’ll be back in SA, probably celebrating Timmy’s B-Day.

Manu played 5 of the 7 but it was revealed he was hurt after the fact in the final game of the regular season. He shouldn’t have been playing.

The Spurs-Grizz series only lasted 6 games (not 7), and Manu played 5 of them. The Grizzlies were also without Rudy Gay, so that sort of evened it out. As far as the Spurs this year, I don’t think Utah is a threat to beat them. The Spurs are a better team. The second round may be difficult for them. I think Clippers could give them a hard time, but I think the Spurs would win. If they play the Grizzlies, I think it could go either way.

Aww, no Wilson Chandler, he was ruled out for the season a week ago, I was really hoping he would come back and giv ehte Nuggets another play maker and scorer, oh well, the Nuggets are still deep, and barring a Dallas comeback and a Denver letdown, they are slated to play the Lakers. The Lakers have a size advantage, but the Nuggets are scrappy, and you know what, I’m calling the upset, Nuggets over LAL. The Lakers do have the size to kill the Nuggets, but the Nuggets can run the Lakers out of the building with their speed, the Lakers might prevail, but I think the Nuggets will win.
