I know everyone talks about the Heat, and the the thunder, and the Bulls, but why does everyone keep forgetting about the spurs?

Last year they were upset in the first round but they got a terrible matchup, Ginobli was injured which really screwed them over, and there bench wasnt nearly as good (they didnt have patty mills)

Now they have a very talented rookie in Kawhi Leonard, their big 3 is rested, and ready to go. Splitter, and Neal are playing better.

Blair still doesnt have any Mcls but hes improved.

Danny Green was a huge steal for them, dudes a baller and knows how to play in big games.

They still have the red rocket, and added Boris ”one too many Croissants” Diaw, and St Patrick Mills.

And they have the best coach in the game, they play team basketball, most people think their boring to watch but their third in the league in scoring and everyone gets involved, they can score extremly well in the half court and have had a lot of blowout wins against good teams.

I think the Heat will be crying in their locker room again, and Greg Popovich will get his fifth championship

Although I agree with you about the Spurs’s bench getting better and them being a legit championship contender, I don’t think Patty Mills is a major reason on the improvement…

As a Spurs fan I don’t see them as the number 1 pick for the Championship. They’re severely lacking some length in the frontcourt. I think that if we face Memphis again (despite our record against them this season), that it’ll be very tough to advance.

I really don’t see a favorite this year. I would not be a bit surprised if the Spurs, Thunder, HEAT, or Bulls walked away as champions this year.Spurs are definitely a scary team. Right now they would have to go through Phoenix, Grizzlies, Thunder, and then the HEAT/Bulls.

The Spurs are sneaky.  They kicked our ass (Griz) down in SA a couple of weeks ago as Tim Duncan had his own personal retro night and had 27 points or something like that and beat Marc Gasol up and down the court.

The Grizzlies have more talent this year, but I can’t figure them out.  If they win their first round match up in 4 or 5, I think our series with the Clippers will go 6 or 7.  Then the Spurs will have rest and home court.

I think the winner of the OKC-Lakers second round matchup will take the West, but a potential Memphis-Spurs winner will be tough too.  Any of the final four teams out West could go to the Finals and have a great shot to win the title.

Are their best players better than every other team’s best players? No. And I don’t think they are as deep as Chicago.
