rileymcshea3ParticipantAs of right now Kyrie Irving is the clear cut best player now and the future of this draft class .
So who do you think the second bet guy from last years draft(not including Ricky rubio of
Course). You have guys like Derick Williams who is a really versatile forward , or imam shumpert who can lock down players , or marshon Brooke who people see some Kobe in him, or even 2 centers who aren’t exactly at there best right now but can develop into great players in the future with kanter , and valanciunas or maybe you like one of those scoring quick pgs named kemba, knight , and isiah Thomas, or idk you see some Allstate pruction with parsons who can do it all and don’t forget about the super energetic faried
BUT my guy is Klay Thompson . I think he will be that guy behind Kyrie or even in front of him. Thompson might already be a top 5 shooter in the league . He is a 6’7 shooting guard that has athletic ability , I have seen him dunk over some people. He is not just a shooter he has averaged 26 points 6 Rebound 5 assist and 2.7 steals over the past 3 games. So he is a versatile player who can contribute in many ways and just so happens to be one of the best shooters in the league . I see multiple all star games in his future and other people even say he could be the next Reggie miller . What I’m basically saying here is the kid knows how to ball and that’s why I take him over every player from last years draft ( except Kyrie)

hoodwinkParticipantYou say "I think (Klay Thompson) will be that guy behind Kyrie or even in front of him." …
At no point will Thompson be "in front of" Kyrie Irving.

doodleMachineParticipantas of now, i think it the Manimal, the dude plays fast and hard, and is a double double machine,
i think he will be a candidate for the slam dunk competition next year, BTW, why derrick williams and Not Manimal in the dunk contest?

kngojcParticipantI seriously love how much everyone was hating on last year’s draft and how weak it is. Even though we have some potential all stars already in the making. Irving, nothing else needs to be said, the Cavs hit a homerun and then some with this guy. Klay Thompson is an elite shooter who can also create his own shot. I see a lot more Reggie than Ray in him and I think that he can become a 25 ppg scorer. Not to mention guys like Kawhi Leonard who has been starting for the best team in the west and has been producing very well. I’m too lazy to check the numbers but there are a lot of rookies (even including Rubio I guess) who are starting or had been starting for their teams. Hell, even the 60th pick looks like a great role player for the Kings. The superstar talent may not be there but there is definitely all star talent all over that draft.

r377ParticipantNo love for Brandon Knight ?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/20/2012 - 1:37am #661861

doodleMachineParticipantbrandon knight is trying his best to be a good point guard, though he is still Turn Over pro, much like Lin, but with a good personal coach, he could learn fast, and be a chauncey type player,

ScalParticipantJonas Valanciunas is gonna be the second best player of the draft.
Klay Thompson had a great rookie season but still I think Jonas might be a potential all star in 5 years, and don’t see Klay being one.

Future_Scout boardmy problem with the manimal, how much better can he get?
i think im going with klay thopson as well, his game right now screams +20 ppg in the future

TRC1991ParticipantI think you can rank them as followed:
1) kyrie irving
2) klay thompson
3) kenneth faried
4) brandon knight
5) isaiah thomas

PulseGlazerParticipantMy guess is Jonas for second best as well, then Faried. Also, don’t sleep on Kawhi. Spurs get better.

nbafan7898ParticipantRight now IMHO it’s gotta be Isaiah Thomas.

Bird_YearsParticipantWhat do you guys think about the Jazz rookies? Enes Kanter and Alec Burks. Neither has been getting much playing time because the Jazz have been trying to win. I had been looking forward to seeing both those guys playing more
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/20/2012 - 3:33am #661894

JoeWolf1I said at the beginning of the year I didn’t think Burks was very NBA ready, but I expect a bigger Soph season from him. I think the Jazz handled he and Kanter’s minutes pretty well this season. I bet they’ll both be 10+ ppg scoeres next year, or close to it.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/20/2012 - 4:09am #661901

JoeWolf1Yeah, I hate the way Shumpert plays offense, but I love the way he plays defense. He really bought in, and he deserves recognition.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/20/2012 - 4:10am #661899
True_JafiParticipantI dont know how everyone can just overlook Iman Shumpert. By far has been the most NBA ready defender that his been drafted in the last 5 years. He has already made a case for All NBA Defensive 2nd team. Yes he offensive needs a little tweeking but thats any rookie. So IMO, Shumpert is second. He and Chandler have changed the Knicks mentality on defense for the most part
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/20/2012 - 4:31am #661903

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI’m gonna go with Kenneth Faried at the moment but I think Valuncianas will eventually wind up the second best of the lot.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/20/2012 - 5:20am #661912
Future_Scout boardok maybe im hating on faried a lil, but honestly i think klay thompson will be better.
if i had to re-do my top 5 drafted last year he would be in for brooks or shumpert, sadly.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 04/20/2012 - 5:24am #661914

niQParticipantI think Manimal wasn’t a candidate for the Dunk Competition cause he simply wasn’t getting enough exposure early in the season. I mean, he was barely given playing time early so I guess David Stern didn’t take notice.

Jlv2012I hear he’s pretty good. All these 1st rounders got to put in work to keep up with him.
