Not too surprising considering the type of team they’re putting together…but, of course this all hinges on Stern not rigging the draft for Rubio!

deuce4offCurry playing for D’antoni = ridiculous stats.

PringlesParticipantWith Gallinari and Curry, the Knicks could have the two best shooters at their positions in the NBA.

llperezD’antoni drafting guys who can’t play defense but can put points on the board, how shocking. Seriously, I don’t see Curry having a huge impact but he can definitely shoot the rock.

PringlesParticipantEh, Curry’s quicker than most people think. He also has great size at the PG spot (6’3). He obviously won’t be a good defender at the 2, but there are reports that he could still grow a few more inches.

BartParticipantThey re gonna pick him un less they win or get a top 3. If Arron Brooks can put up numbers in the NBA Curry can too at the PG position. Playing under MIke D just makes it worst meaning good, a wide open system, wide open looks, running off of screens, not being named Chris Duhon hes gonna be pretty good playing in NY. I think they should try for Clark too hes like a Diaw type 2 lottery picks would help more than 1.

michaelds911ParticipantHey! I don’t like how you just called out Aaron Brooks like that lol. He gets numbers because he is a complete PG who is lightning quick and can shoot the rock. Curry should put up some pretty nice numbers though. Anybody who can shoot the 3 in the D’Antoni system, does well. It’s that simple.

johnecoParticipantThe big question is if Curry is a legit PG. Can anyone who has seen him play much this year answer to that? His numbers look decent, how was his creativity?
Physically his size and strength is fine for PG, there the question becomes his speed. He does seem deceptively quick – but he’s certainly no speed demon and would probably beone of the slower PGs. I’m eager to see how he measures up at the combine, like is he really 6′ 3″ (he was listed at 6 1 till recently)? How does his speed compare with someone like Bibby?
In the ideal outcome, as mepaphoros said above the Knicks could end up with 2 of the best shooters in the NBA at their positions (although also probably 2 of the worst defenders at their positions…). That might be attractive for someone like Lebron or Wade on offense. Like basically a wide open system where they can make plays, and surrounded by deadly shooters that cannot be left alone at all, they could ring up some insane numbers…

johnecoParticipantBTW, I don’t believe he got a promise, I think it would be crazy to give him one wthout working him out and evaluating him head to head against the other top PG prospects.
The most I can imagine is that they told him they were very interested.

sheltwon3ParticipantUnless they get top 3, I like this pick and I believe that Curry will show that he is more pro ready and athletic than people believe him to be.

sheltwon3ParticipantPeople may forget this but Steve Nash was considered slow out of college.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 7:05am #149411
michaelds911ParticipantNash had way more PG skills coming out, and he had curry’s jumper. I think if Curry had those tools we wouldn’t be questioning him as much.

grkgregParticipantif the knicks draft curry, then its good bye to nate. curry is a undersized sg like nate, it would make sense if they lose nate that curry is going to step in a play the same role as nate. the knicks played nate a lot at the 2, it just makes sense if they draft him its because they feel his going to replace nate.
and yea curry can shoot the ball, but we all seen from roddick, it doesn’t matter how good u can shoot, if u can’t creat ur own shot then ur not going to make it in the big leagues.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDo you mean Reddick? He is starting for a playoff team.
0- Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 8:44am #149428
grkgregParticipanthis a bust, his only starting cause the magic’s back court has been beat up or suspended.
0
- Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 8:46am #149430

The8thDeadlySinParticipantOh. So the fact that he is the second best shooting guard on his team makes him a bust?
0- Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 9:08am #149436
grkgregParticipantno the fact that he sucks means his a bust lol. and it’s redick we both spelled his name wrong lmao.
he doesn’t play good defense, he doesn’t pass well, when he does get the ball their is a 90% chance that his going to chuck up a shot. and being the 2nd best sg on the magic isn’t saying much, plus he more like there 3rd behind, lee and pietrus.
0
- Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 9:42am #149445

The8thDeadlySinParticipantIf Pietrus is better, why isn’t he starting?? Because Redick makes better decisions with the ball. He does pass well and doesn’t shoot unless he is open. He has learned how to play the game. I agree that his defence could be better but he is not a great athlete that is guarding the most athletic position in the league. Give him credit where it is due.

QHaynes123NO!!!! as a knick fan…I dont want Curry. I want Evans, Clark or James Johnson.
0- Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 2:48pm #149567
grkgregParticipanti c every knick fan booing curry on draft night once they call his name. as a knick fan i would rather c a true 1 or 2 be draft rather then curry. like jennings, dezoren, or evans.

QHaynes123im agree…i would be the loudest….booing..
i dont hate him…i hope he has a good career but i want more of a big slasher and if we go PG, i rather it be Jennings
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 3:01pm #149570

Mr. BasketballParticipantknicks fans will cheer cuz he is a big name in college.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 3:05pm #149572
QHaynes123Not if they leave Jennings and Evans on the board…these NYC sports radio guys will disect his game from a to z
And dont let the Nets take a superstar…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 3:36pm #149583

cdmPSU17ParticipantThis could be a ploy to get LeBron to come to NYC.They are good friends from what I’ve heard. Curry could be his new Mo Williams.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/11/2009 - 8:18pm #149628
billykParticipantI think Curry will be a better pro than Jennings, so the Knicks would be wise to pick Curry……
