If Toronto gets the #1 pick?

If Toronto gets the #1 pick, who do they take? The strength of this draft is the 4 and 1 positions, which coincide with positions they are most set at (4: Bosh and Barg, 1: Calderon).
Personally, I would take Griffin, and trade Bosh. Everyone knows Bosh is not staying after 2010, and Griffin would bring the toughness they need in the front court to supplement Barg. Barg is also more capable with his to play the 5 than Bosh or Griffin are.

  What would be the point of trading for Randolph with Griffin in Toronto?
  From what I’ve seen, Randolph had a pretty good year with GS before his injury. I can’t see them making that deal anyways.
  As far as the thread goes, I take Griffin in a heartbeat simply because Bosh is a question mark. However, I think any trade involving Bosh is going to be complicated since he has one year left. That will prevent Toronto from getting a good deal for him.
  If the team who acquires Bosh can convince him to negotiate a new contract, then a better trade could happen. But like I said, that’s dependent on Bosh and the team he goes to.

No this is definetly the best possible trade, If they get Blake Griffin:
Bosh for Beasley and Quinn
Miami becomes dominant and Toronto has a great future.

Bosh should be a second best player on any legit contender. I would hesitate to throw a max deal at him.

It could finally happen. They have a couple guards worth trading or sign-and-trade, if the Raptors get the 1st pick and choose Griffin. They could get either Hinrich who plays both Guard positions, defends well, good leader, and is still young. The Bulls would probably have to throw in T-Time and/or a draft pick, but it will benefit both teams. Bulls get low-post prescence and Raptors get great G and a possible starting or very solid back-up to Griffin, or another solid rookie.

76s ballers, a trade of bosh for Beasley seems unlikely, since the whole point is to avoid the log jam at 4 (unless you believe B-EZ can play the 3 effectively?)
Qhaynes, a really good trade idea. It almost seems inevitable that Marco will end up playing with his fellow country man, Barg, plus, along with morrow, it would be a definite upgrade at the 2. The only problem would be with the salaries. Toronto would have to take back Maggette or Crawford which is great if you want to be a perennial lottery team.
How about the Knicks? A trade for Bosh would assist in the quest for Bron, and they also have a fellow Italian who plays a position that the Raptors are weak in. Say Bosh for Danilo, Jared Jefferies (less athletic, more experienced J. Moon), Q. Richardson’s expiring contract, and NY’s 1st pick and take Rozen, Harden, or Evans?

In the unlikely event in which Toronto landed the #1 pick and took Griffin, I would be all over acquiring Bosh as a Memphis fan, as long as he was willing to agree to an extension with the Grizzlies, which is pretty unlikely. Nevertheless, if he was willing to sign an extension, I would offer Toronto something like this:
Toronto gets: Rudy Gay, 2009 lottery pick (Harden, DeRozan, Evans, etc), Orlando’s 2009 1st round pick, 2010 unprotected 1st round pick, and Darko Milicic
Memphis gets: Chris Bosh (newly re-signed), Marcus Banks
Memphis acquires one one of the top PFs in the league, while holding onto O.J. Mayo, Mike Conley, and Marc Gasol. They give up a lot, but they get back a superstar big man.
Toronto gets a great package and goes fully into rebuilding mode with a ton of young talent to work with. They start over with a great core/starting 5 in place (Griffin, Bargnani, Gay, DeRozan/Evans/Harden, Calderon), and they get a ton of cap relief by acquiring Darko’s expiring contract and unloading Marcus Banks, which will allow them to make go after some solid free agents and solidify their bench.
A Bosh-to-Memphis deal isn’t likely, but if there was a possibility of one, this is deal would be fair for both sides IMO.

i dont think…randolph is that highly loved in Golden State. PLus there kinda of a win now team, so why not add a Bosh to Ellis and Crawford?

Golden State would have to either gut their roster of their young players, or give up on ellis, jackson, biedrins, maggette, or crawford. I think the only player that toronto would be interested in is biedrins, which I doubt Golden State would give up on after the season he had.

most likely Tornto won’t get the first pick….. But what if the Sac Kings got the first overall pick as projected in the mock draft….Do you think that Raps GM Colangelo should approach Sac GM about trading their first draft pick in exchange for Chris Bosh?? would Sacramento agree to it? If not, what would make them give up Griffin to Toronto? ……raps then with the first pick draft Griffin, giving them the toughness they really need in the paint…..plus they don’t have to deal with all the “Is Bosh leavin in 2010 anymore” crap……
