@Aran Smth please clear this up

This happened last year, and everybody who doubted him looked like an idiot afterwards.

To sort of paraphrase what someone said last year, Aran has worked hard to get this site to where it is and to gain credibility.  I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t just report something like that if it wasn’t true.  Mitchell may again flip flop on his decision but I serioulsy doubt that this didn’t happen.

It is a strikingly similar scenario as to the Tristan Thompson scenario from last year that created a lot of discussion on these boards.

Like everyone has said, it does have parralels to last year in a couple ways. One is that no other site really seems to be announcing it yet and the other is that there is another guy who is going early entry with the same name. Seeing that I know Aran likes the Tony Mitchell he announced as a prospect, not to mention that his draft stock seems to be MUCH higher than the Alabama version, I am guessing Aran did not mince words or confuse names.

I was laughing at this entire Tristan Thompson fiasco last year and I think this is the same. The thing is, North Texas Tony Mitchell does not have near the same publicity as a player at a major university who ended up being the 4th pick in the draft. So, Aran takes a lot less of a risk with announcing it, though he is probably still right about it like he was with Tristan. He took tons of backlash for his Tristan announcement and when he was found to be right about it, got no real apology or credit. This one is a lot safer and I am guessing the questioning will likely die down as most people believe Tony Mitchell is leaving North Texas as a result of Johnny Jones leaving for LSU.

When Aran’s girlfriend confronts him with an argument or an awkward situation, I wonder if Nomoney and Mikey V pop out of the woodwork and answer for him…..

I love you both, but’s it’s funny how you both come to the rescue any time a topic is directed at Aran.

I just joined this site and was not trying to imply anything about Aran and am not trying to make his article look bad.  I know numerous NBA insiders took the story and ran with it, so I am sure he had very good sources tell him this info.

However – I can assure you that Tony himself and his family are stating that he is committed to UNT for next season.

If I did not think it was the case, I wouldn’t have written it. Just so happens that I trust Aran and I tend to think he got a raw deal with the whole Tristan Thompson thing. Also have a feeling that if Aran is reporting that Tony Mitchell from North Texas is leaving for the draft, it is not so far fetched. Either way, we will find out by April 29.

Tend to think it is a pretty low risk announcement. Trey Burke was supposedly entering, he went back. Just think it is funny no one fronts on the fact that other sources are wrong sometimes and that Aran was given $hit when he was right. If he is wrong about this, it is one thing, but I have a feeling he more than likely has a pretty good source.

It’s that "All for One" mentality. I’d defend you if somebody questioned your baseball prospect sources, or RUDEBOY if somebody questioned his Live Jasmine sources.

Speaking of which, I’ve been following your articles and mocks on Through the Fence. Quality stuff.
