drk3351ParticipantI remember on draft day portland was picking at 21 and I thought for sure they would draft Faried. I heard they liked his game and he was right there for them. But then they get Nolan Smith which was a huge reach, and now Faried is playing great for Denver. I just feel that they missed out big time for something a lot of people expected them to do. Does anyone agree that this was a big mistake by Portland?

B FreeParticipantIt was but if Nolan can develope into a solid backup we will be ok because Hickson is bringing something very nice to the table.

bloodshyParticipantWhy waste time contemplating the obvious?
You have a top-5 performer from a rookie class vs. a guy that can’t get minutes when everyone on his team at his position sucks. At this moment in time, it seems pretty clear that regardless of need, Faried was a much better value.

Future_Scoutthey could also have brooks.
but whatever, they have two lotto picks coming up and can literally fill up any 2 positions they want and feel its needed, being a sg/c – pg/c – maybe even pg/sg, who knows? if they get the right picks, their future is looking mighty bright, specially with aldridge out for the season and their picks likely going higher.
if they get the right prospects, they will eventually end up being one of my fave teams to watch. like: if they get drummond (which is a personal best fit imo) and a good guard

r377ParticipantI thought this was gonna be a thread about them taking Oden over Durant a few years back on draft day….

topotamolderParticipantThat’s what happens when you go to a draft with NO GM … Blazers need to sign one or they are going to screw this draft again

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIts funny how Portland in a short amount of time went from a serious playoff contender to a lottery team..Even though Roy was injured most of last season they still had a direction they were going in,but now everything seems to be in shambles….They have some serious questions that they must address this year…
1.Nick Batum will be a free agent…
2.They’ll have 2 high lottery picks, who they draft might decide who they’ll go after in free agency..Some have them targeting Goran Dragic this summer..
3.Who will be their next coach?
4.Who will be the new GM?
5.What should they do about their backcourt of Crawford and Felton?Portland is 1 of the nba’s smallest markets, but the city have the most Loyal Fans…And the city deserves better then what they’ve recieved the past few months…
