Memphis MadnessParticipantGood draft. The top of the board looks about right. I think New Orleans could really use T Rob. He is a warrior inside who can throw down some dunks and energize the team. Gordon, GV, Henry, and Jarrett Jack make for a pretty good perimeter attack. Bellinelli can score too. Al Aminu and Ariza are solid at the 3. Not sure why Ariza supposedly isn’t in there long term plans, since he sounds like a guy that they need.
T Rob could be the new focal point down low with Jason Smith and Ayon being solid, if limited, banging big men. They could move Kaman for some pieces or go into next year and try to win the Nerlens Noel/Cody Zeller sweepstakes.
Portland could end up winning this draft by getting two solid players in Beal and Zeller to add to a nice young core. A core built around LMA with Zeller, Pryzbilla, and Hickson up front with Raymond Felton at point, and Wes Matthews, Batum, and Beal on the wings. That’s a solid 8 man rotation. They could use some more help at point guard but Nolan Smith should turn into a servicable backup. Jonny Flynn is promising too if he is in their long term plans.
I would think that the Grizzlies could use an extra shooter at the 2/3 spots but they could also use a shot blocker so I can see the Fab Melo pick. Hadaddi is a decent backup center, but Fab Melo has more upside on defense. Haddadi would then make a great 11th or 12 man who could play some Twin Towers with either Gasol or Melo in spots.
Will Barton would be a great pick for Golden State at 35. That might be the ideal fit for him. He can score and slash and should thrive in an uptempo game. Klay Thompson would be the outside threat with WB being the slashing wing man off the bench. If he improves his strength and defense, his upside could be a poor man’s Latrell Sprewell.
I see you put the Spurs drafting Robbie Hummel. Hummel can shoot, scrap, and rebound. This is the best fit for Hummel. I could see him being a nice combo forward behind Kawhi Leonard.

jwet33ParticipantMemphis, totally agree with what you said. I see the Hornets getting either Gilchrist at 3 or Robinson then at 10 getting a guard/forward depending on who they choose. Kendall Marshall could be a deadly pick, let’s say they draft Robinson…Marshall, Gordon, Ariza, Robinson, Kaman, Okafor, Jack, Vasquez, Aminu…Damn!
